Clean looking AC! I always was a fan of gunmetal Tundras with the OEM split 17" wheels. Awesome start and welcome to another 1st Gen Tundra owner.
North Dakota isn't too fun. Worked down there a little when I was working in the field. Probably a drastic change from the Golden State. Good call...
Congrats again on the trip and outcome ;)
Looks like you made it through the squeeze on 7 Bridges without too much trouble. Glad to see the D-Cab made it through. We'll have to get a Tundra run going this fall. Too many Alberta Tundra owners on here for us not to unite!
I disagree here. Minimal cost for an extra bit of security - I'll take it everytime. Bolts do fatigue as there are cycled. I know the cycle count is minimal and shouldn't be a problem but it doesnt mean I wont replace mine every single time I replace the LBJ's. Totally concur on proper...
Wow crazy. I ordered new hardware when I did mine on the Tundra after seeing these bolt failures on the 4Runners too. I think for the extra $$$ it's just added safety that your not putting in a part that has XXXX miles of fatigue. Total bummer though.
I hope the truck comes out ok and you get...
Wow!!! Glad ok and it wasn't on the trail.
You will have to give us some stats on those LBJs.
- were they OEM?
- how many miles did you have on the pair? How many years?
- how many miles/years since lifting the truck?
- were the lower bolts loctite in place? What color loctite if any?
From my...
Yah its hard for us tall guys! Hate ducking under everything. I am very excited about the awning as well.
I will be trying to sell the wheels/tire as a combo if this all goes through. I'll post a link once it happens though!
Thanks for all the responses!
Cletus, I will forward this thread to my buddy who is looking. He is looking to lift his 3rd Gen 4Runner. The TRD coils are progressive rate.
GasCan, awesome rig! We should try and meet up. You signed up on Untitled Offroad?! You should come out to one of the...
Rig is looking great dude!
Hope your having a good summer. I was down there in August last year and have been trying to convince my wife that we should go back again sometime before the new year. Love the PNW.
Thanks for the kind words everyone!!
ATTN 1st Gen TUNDRA owners
Kind of a random request. Looking for some OEM Tundra front coils and struts for a buddy. Preferably TRD coils with the Y/Y and Y/B designation. He is using them to lift his 3rd gen 4runner and can't find any locally. Fire me a...
Thanks man! I could criticize the hell out of it but we are definitely getting better. We actually made the video above for a local film festival entry where the theme was "Trailblazer". Interesting to start shooting video when we've been shooting stills for like combined 50 years. haha
