I'll speak with my old man and then let the arm twisting commence. Haha
Lol I've already broken all of my previous vehicle records with #Doug. It's already an accomplishment that I have had it for 3.5 years..... and it's not going anywhere anytime soon.
Ugh. Can't get enough of the Koots -...
Same place as last fall, yes. I had to head back there and see it in the summer. Still lots of snow as you can see. SO many more trails/roads to explore out there. Boggles my mind. haha
Thanks Eric. Do your shackles work on 1st Gen Tacos? He needs some more lift in the rear. I wonder if the...
Yes, headlight housings are designed for the bulb output they are spec'd for. There will be some negative consequences (for oncoming drivers) with the LED bulbs in a factory housing. From all the examples I've seen the output is better than a drop-in HID but still not perfect. IMO, retrofits are...
So many photos to go through. Hoping to put together a short 60s video as well. I can't think of a better way to spend Canada day, than being out and enjoying it in all it's glory. I love this place.

Regarding the lower ball joints specifically on these trucks, I will be replacing mine every 50,000 kms or every 3-4 years. These are basically the most known failure point on the early Tacomas and 3rd gen 4Runners to which share the design with the Tundra LBJs. Considering the Tundra is heavier...
Ummmm... I wonder if the actual physical height of the 3-leaf AAL is what is causing the discrepancy. Lift height achieved by the leafs increase in spring rate shouldn't be the difference. My thinking is the AAL almost is acting like a very small lift block due to the thickness of the pack. This...
There is definitely room to mount higher on Access cabs at least. You could hypothetically run a 12" shock without going inwards if you made both new upper and lower mounts. If I ever tackle this I will be drilling out the factory X-member and then boxing the frame and building a new cross...
My shocks:
Fox P/N: 985-24-009 Extended Length: 26.15" Compressed Length: 16.05"
You could always raise the bumpstop too. a U-Bolt flip will move the bumpstop up 1.2" due to the thickness of the plate. However, mine still cleared beforehand.
Proof in the pudding - No U-Bolt flip and Wheelers...
Truth. The same reason I hang around here so much - not a lot of BS and people forcing their opinions down your throat. Lots of creativity here and good constructive criticism.
Excited for the build. Gives me a glimpse at what mine can look like when I win the loto and ship my truck down to...
Yah oil in AB has hurt a lot of us! I'm still hanging in there but my wages sure aren't the same as they used to be.
The 4.6L is basically a more modern 4.7. If they took the good from the 4.7 and improved upon it, I can't imagine it being anything less than legendary. Good luck in your search!
