Yeah as a personal rule I never tow more than 80% of the whatever vehicles tow rating. If I need more I get a vehicle that can tow what I need within that 80% window.
Keep the PW and tow an off road capable camper like one of the Black Series. Best of both worlds and one sweet and capable base camp

Yeah I don't know about yo mama but mine really has no interest in buying the Scrambler and neither do I but let's break this down a little.......
How can a dbl cab vehicle that tows up to 7650 lbs and has a payload of 1600 lbs in the 5 foot steel bed, available front and rear lockers, solid...
The TRD PRO is not going to get you any farther up the trail than any other 4Runner trim. The TRD PRO is basically an appearance package with slightly nicer shocks. That said, the 4Runner is very capable stock. Throw on some sliders and good skid plates and it will take you all the way...
So it's a good thing it's not even comparable to or in the same class as any 3/4 or 1 ton truck from the past or now huh? However it is very competitive with other similar midsize trucks....in it's class
I'm pretty sure you can get a Power Wagon (Tradesman with PW option) cheaper than a Rubicon Wrangler now so I agree the Scrambler is gonna prob cost even more.
I'm calling it a Scrambler since that is what it should have been called in the first place.
Yeah didn't say anything about reliability either which has been hit or miss with Jeep. But I thought they fixed the axle issue? Also I can imagine the price of that thing is gonna be crazy high.
I'm sure it will be plenty capable in the Rubicon trim and probably has best or close to it tow ratings so please don't let your bias degrade the facts. Interested in seeing how the diesel version does.
This is what I am trying to figure out but not many are offering input about it.....So I was thinking about a dc to dc charger close to the aux. battery wired from the vehicle battery. Then possibly add a solar system later on to supplement. When not on a trip I can easily take the battery out...
I am interested in the tent itself. Any water intrusion into the tent? Any thoughts on the tent itself? Do you feel the roof top tent is worth the money? Thanks.
Yeah I know. Don't think I will ever stop complaining about the price of things from here on out. I guess I'm getting older. It's all relative and I prefer the base models @Buliwyf....But none of this is helping me to afford or pull the trigger on that sweet diesel ZR2.
Yeah between the new Taco and the F150 I hate to say it but it would be the F150 for me.
So wow, you have had a few friends with some bad luck with their hitch carriers. Only one of my friends lost his on the highway but it was totally his fault. Bike was in the middle of the highway. He...
I like the idea of having a portable second battery such as this....
https://newportvessels.com/smart-battery-box/
Sort of a portable house battery that I can take from the 4runner and use it other places such as in the RTT on the M416 trailer. Is this a dumb idea? Meaning would it just be...
Could use a hitch carrier for the bike. This is my plan for when I don't want to trailer the bike for more remote camping. Will camp in/out of the 4runner and hitch carrier the dirt bike.
It's gonna be interesting to see how much they water down the Ranger for the US market. You can almost guarantee it won't be as stout as the Australian version....so sick of it! An why no diesel option??
