Our primary shore charger is a 110v Magnum Energy 2000w inverter/charger. This will not work when fed 220v. If memory serves, the one time it was fed 208v it opened a breaker. And, of course you would not want it to feed 220v to all of your 110v appliances. The 220v charger is a Victron Phoenix...

If you use an inverter/charger, as many of us do, then you get a shore power charger at no extra cost. While lithium batteries are no longer dependent on a "perfect" charge, the way lead acid was, you still need a shore power option.

Just the ability to leave the water running. The net water savings won't be much, if any. Especially if you drain the last rinse water - which you probably should. (That would even out the "wash" fills and the "rinse" fills.) Gotta admit that I do like the idea of being able to stand under the...

This is simply brilliant! I have always dismissed recirculating showers as complex cures looking for a disease. Using a bowl, we use about two gallons for a shower, but it is definitely a military/navy shower - no standing under running water. What you describes uses about the same amount of...

You want a shore power option - 110/220v if for international travel. Our battery to battery charger(s) are misbehaving and it has been pouring with rain, so we are now at a campground doing a nice restorative charge on shore power. I will find the gremlins and banish them, eventually, but for...

Atkinson Vos. Bit of a drive, but that is where we went. https://www.unimogs.co.uk/ Edited: The Vermonster has found folk in Germany who do springs.

I would vote for repair. The Webasto Dual Top is not hydronic, but I would note that the burner is considered a consumable part, to be replaced every two/three years. Ask Joe917 if he knows when it was last replaced. FWIW, full overhaul in UK costs out at near $1000. Granted, this included...

Seems like we need to start an Atkinson Vos users group! FWIW, we live in the soggy south of the US and travel in the west. Heat is an issue. We started with a 12v air conditioner for all the usual reasons. Thought we could just plug in the inverter/charger when we did have shore power. As...

    1124 AF Double Cab

Welcome to the LN-2 club. Our 917AF is in storage in UK. In September we hope to escape England's Green and Narrow Lanes and start traveling in the UK. (Gotta make a trip back to Atkinson Vos to chase an elusive leak.) So jealous of your double cab! https://diplostrat.net/

    Doka Cab Shortening

There have to be body shops in Bend. Talk to Lance Gilles at Earthcruiser. He won't do it, but he might have ideas on where to go. (They do a variation of this to their Fusos.)

    Doka Cab Shortening

I will grant you that a triple cab is a bit much! But a cab and a half is nice. Do give a little thought to whether you will ever need seat belted space for extra passengers, for example, a guide. That might change your calculations a bit.

    Doka Cab Shortening

Free advice is worth what you pay for it. That said, I have a single cab 917AF and would love the extra leg room that a DOKA would provide. Also great storage for all manner of gear that you don't really want in the camper. YMMV.

Blue Sea 7650 Dual Battery Install Question

I think you have it. You may want to review this: https://cookfb.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/dual-battery-slides-2016.pdf 1. Use switch or not for any purposes that you may want, e.g., kill switch for the second battery, force combine for winching or self jump, etc. 2. Leave factory wiring...

Blue Sea 7650 Dual Battery Install Question

The ACR is an excellent bit of kit. With the caveats about the switch, install it and use it; it should do exactly what it says. I used a home brew VSR for years when I had AGM batteries. With a lead acid camper battery, the only challenge is getting a high enough voltage to charge quickly and...

Blue Sea 7650 Dual Battery Install Question

Some final notes: -- The slide deck on dual batteries is a bit dated. Why? Because everybody has gone to lithium iron and I have been too busy to update it. -- This is the presentation you want to read: https://cookfb.files.wordpress.com/2022/10/move-to-lifepo4-2022.pdf

Blue Sea 7650 Dual Battery Install Question

Again, you are not understanding how the ACR works. Ignore the switch for the moment; you don't need it. Basically, you run one wire, fused and of the correct gauge for the distance, from the positive terminal of the starter battery to a terminal on the ACR. You run another wire, fused and the...

Blue Sea 7650 Dual Battery Install Question

True, but given that I have around 5A of background noise, I couldn't see 15mA if I tried! ;) But I am talking about a much bigger system. I agree with your point about the switch; probably not needed for a small system. I tend to like the option of a master kill switch to isolate the camper...

Blue Sea 7650 Dual Battery Install Question

STOP. You are misunderstanding how a voltage sensing/intelligent relay works. The ACR is simply Blue Sea's trade for one of these devices. An ACR does not read the position of a switch - in operates in response to voltages, thus it does not care if the engine is running or not. The 7650 is...

    Unimog U1300L Drawings or Dimensions?

Taking my truck back in late June, will take another look. They had one box built, allegedly for someone in the 'States. It was going to go to Newcastle for the interior fittings.
