I've made some more good progress. Lot's of plumbing has been done. Finished the brake lines and hoses, mounted and plumbed the transmission cooler, plumbed the power steering, fabbed coolant pipes and mocked up the front bumper with winch. I also decided to move the starting battery. I mounted...
Thanks. Good info. I am glad I don't have to go through that. I am confident in my fabrication skills and I wouldn't skimp on something dangerous like a seat mount but I have seen plenty of scary stuff done by others.
Any fab shop should be able to make that for you if you aren't comfortable with welding aluminum. I've made several custom tanks and since that one is just a thin rectangle, it's not very complex at all.
For those familiar with what's available, how are they suspended? Seems like the seat would have to sit up high enough off the cab to allow travel. I've seen seats in buses and semis but they have a ton of room between the floor and seat bottom. I've considered mounting my seats rigid in front...
I can't comment specifically on your setup but I deal with turbos a ton in my shop. I would avoid any cheap off brands. Buy reputable brands like garret, borg warner, etc....
I got the last of the steering parts bolted up. I didn't have the correct steering box for this truck so I bought one on ebay. It's a recent reman from a wrecked truck for $175. Bolted it up and used the arm from the older NPR that I was using before.
Today I sorted out the brake lines and...
So I am starting in to wiring my project and I've been looking through the manual. Nowhere can I find a picture or mention of this small white plug shown in the picture. I am thinking it was added on for whatever accessories were installed on this truck before. Does that sound right? It is...
Thanks. The air beg setup left a bit to be desired so I got rid of it. Not for me. If you click the link in my signature, it will bring up the entire album.
I am in the shop today building my front shock upper mounts. I didn't like my first version that I made off of the factory Isuzu piece so...
I have never experienced issues with lug centric setups. Even if you needed the hub ring to center the wheel, if the lugs didn't bolt the wheel up on center, it would force the wheel to smash the hub ring sideways. If you really want hub rings, get metal ones.
Definitely a good choice and probably the best choice for your purposes. I just installed one in my expo camper build rear end and will be doing the same in the front eventually. The only drawback is if you lift a drive tire off the ground, they don't work but applying the brakes a bit fixes...
I recently downloaded a factory Isuzu manual from an Ebay seller. It was the entire manual for about $20

Thanks man!
I got my parts in to build the rear end. I went with a Detroit Truetrac helical LSD and 4:10 gears. The front is already geared 4:10 but I'll probably install the same differential up front when the time comes.
