    AEV Rear bumper water tanks

If there's an issue with an AEV product, I've not seen "fanboys" try and squelch it. Not to say that if someone is needlessly being a ******** with their posts, they won't catch some flack for that, but I can't think of a single regular (err, sorry, "fanboy") over there that's going to tell you...

Suspension solution for a very heavy 2007 JKU

Wow, that's crazy. I had easily 500 pounds of bags of fill dirt and mulch loaded into the back of my JKUR last weekend at Home Depot and noted how I didn't notice any sag in the rear. I'm sure if it went down .25" or .50" I probably wouldn't have caught it, but I know I'd notice 1" of sag or...

Renegade concept at Detroit Auto Show

Holy currency conversions. Playing around on the US website, it costs US$33,105 to build a Renegade Trailhawk that has just about every option: Uconnect Leather-Trimmed Seats Remote Start Passive Entry 9 Amplified Speakers with Subwoofer Navigation w/ SiriusXM Power Retractable/Removeable...

    Tuners or Programmers.....

FWIW, the warranty book that comes with all of the Jeeps is pretty specific about what does and doesn't void the warranties. To me, it doesn't sound like using a tuner voids your warranties as much as your warranty isn't obligated to fix any repairs caused by the use of non-Chrysler (like a...

    Rock Krawler Suspension

Hmm, interesting to hear that a 1.5" lift put the caster out of spec. I guess that's possible from an alignment machines POV, but it seems like folks on the forums don't usually start talking about feel the loss of caster until 3"+ of lift. IIRC, the smallest lift the drop brackets support is...

    Are aftermarket skids too much?

I'm not sure how much I like the idea of supporting that much weight on five bolts that also happen to be keeping the diff cover attached, or how narrow that skid is towards the end, but it is more of a true skid than a slider, and you def can't beat the price! I think the OP said he's running...

    Are aftermarket skids too much?

Understood. I'm not sure why AEV calls it a "rear diff skid" ... it's actually the lower part of the rear drive shaft that it protects the most (IMO). It's not the most frequently used skid on my Jeep, but it's the one that really earns its weight when it is used.

    Are aftermarket skids too much?

You say all of the old skids are being removed ... do you have an option to keep them? I've got a 2010 JKUR that I've dragged over the rocks for the last five years, and as beat up as the stock gas tank and transfer case skids are, they're still doing a great job of protecting those areas. I...

Expedition overland article on not getting "Jeeping"

Sounds like he did that on purpose. If you scan the comments, there's one where he said "Also... I will admit part of putting jeep thing in the title was to stir up a little trouble ;)". Ergh

AEV Lift Kit Question - Sport VS. Rubicon

If you have two Jeeps lifted with the same springs (i.e. you put AEV 3.5" springs in both Jeeps) and there is a height difference, that differences comes from one of the Jeeps weighing more than the other Jeep. For example, if you take a stock Rubicon and a stock Sport and lift them both with...

AEV Lift Kit Question - Sport VS. Rubicon

Chrysler has different springs for Jeeps based on if they have a hardtop or not, or the tow package or not. This may result in a Rubicon being taller than a Sport, or a Sport being taller than a Sahara, or what not. When you put a lift kit in, you're replacing the factory springs (which are...

AEV Lift Kit Question - Sport VS. Rubicon

AEV's springs are designed to give 3.5/4.5 of lift for a JK carrying the approx. weight of their front bumper + winch and rear bumper + tire carrier. They don't have different springs for Sports vs Rubicons, so assuming you have a Sport and a Rubicon that are the same weight, AEV's springs will...

AEV jeep opinions; comments on reliability and durability?

I've been running their 3.5" lift/35" KM2s on my 2010 JKUR since the summer of 2010. This summer I upgraded to their 4.5" springs and 37" KM2s. My JKUR is my daily driver, and I'm usually able to get it off-road once or twice a month. From April-October, the off-roading usually consists of...
