I ground the rivets off which fastened the wall behind the seats. There is much more room now. I also removed the floor, I hear some wood banging so I decided I needed to re anchor the floor as some of the screws have pulled through.

I think on my long trip I was getting high 10's through low 12mpg. I've driven it on a tank or two commuting 90% freeway and saw 11.38..These are all off the odometer though, I'll have to check with my GPS since the larger tires.

I do too, I think I'm going to make or source a swivel mount for the pass seat and put the fridge behind the driver seat.

the rearrangement...porta potti under the fridge on drawer sliders. drawers under the bed facing inward and "garage" opening toward the rear, accessable when the door is dropped.

I plan on cutting the tail section up to the bottom of the rear sq. tubing for better departure and plating it...

Travel Vans by John Speed..

a little late but you might want to check this book out:

http://www.travelvans.co.uk/

Not the best of web sites for selling something but an excellent book..
Plus, A little pricey but haven't found a US distributor..
He bought a Mercedes 814 4x4 van and does a well thought out conversion..
..emphasis is on expedition traveling but good ideas on prep and construction..
BTW, great build on your part..

Cool truck!
Here's my converted ambulance. Drove it all the way to Panama and back. I'm currently in process of an interior rebuild.

That makes me think of Sayulita Trailer Park.

Motivation doesn't care what time it is....it struck tonight. I got the door pan finished and painted the door trim and window for final install but the *free* putty tape from the RV store was too stuck to itself to use...so off to the RV store next week to buy some and install the door for good.

I also got metal in for framing up the interior and the roof rack, as well as an aluminum sheet for the rear wall.... there's a new plan for the rear wall....pictures will better describe when the time comes. :chef:
