Here is a little more info on the engine that is pretty neat.

The thing I dislike is the sort of 70s-esque elongation and building of everything "bigger" and slightly more obnoxious like the grill, etc. I wonder if someone showed an original designer of the Super Duty what its become, what they would think...
It is interesting (and probably welcome) that they are finally dumping Navistar. Sort of the end of an era. You definitely have to "think" navistar to work on them and its interesting seeing the different rounds as they evolved to the 6.0 and 6.4. Such is life. The thing that is possibly questionable to me is the aluminum heads possibly sacrificing that huge rebuildable durability because even with all the small problems even the 6.0 is a 400K+ engine one the head bolts are replaced.
First off, NEVER buy the first year of a new anything, especially an engine, 03-04.25 6.0L anyone?. Wait a year so most of the bugs can be worked out. That being said with urea injection being used this allows of smaller EGR systems to be in place and should prove to increase reliability vs the massive EGR's being used on the 6.4L.
Aluminum heads should not be an issue, Dmax's are lasting long times with minimal issues. Plus the 6.7 scorpion uses more head bolts per cylinder.
I have done a lot of 6.0L engines swaps recenlty, milage on the trucks was anywhere from 96,000km to 210,000km. Each one had a hole in a piston or two. In fact when I think about it I can recall very, very few 6.0L I have seen with high km on them. I have seen a ton of cummins with very high mileage, a lot of 7.3's and a fair bit of dmax's.
So I disagree with the 6.0L being considered a 400,000+ engine.
