6-speed manual with 4.10's. Still running stock tires and suspension.

I just hit 10,000 miles.

I seem to easily get 16.5 MPG average. Mixed driving.

If I drive hard it goes down to 15.5 MPG.

I have seen it get 17.5 when I drive slower and don't accelerate hard.

That's using 87 octane in California.

What are the stock tires size for a stock Rubicon?

Do all 6-speed manual Rubicons come with stock lockers and 4.10 gear ratio or it is an extra cost?

Thank you

255/75 (~32.5") tire

Used to be all 2 DR rubicons came with 4.10s stock, 4drs came with 3.73 with 4.10s as an option (no cost i believe). Not sure if it's still that way.

The stock tires on mine were 255/75-R17.

All "Rubicon" models are standard 4.10 gearing, front sway bar disconnect, and front/rear lockers.

I think for the manual transmission, 4.10 is the ONLY option, vs. the automatic you can also get 3.73

The only issue I have with the lockers is that you have to be in 4WD to use them, and you have to have the rear locker engaged in order to lock the front. You also need it in 4WD to release the sway bar.

A future modification on my list is to get this re-wired.

I recall the expeditions west JKU had their lockers switched independent of the 4WD. But, Scott mentioned it was like that when they got it, so he didn't know the in's and out's of the modification?

I just bought my '12 JKUR late last week and tried out the lockers this weekend to make sure they worked. I went into 4 low, then hit the locker button once for the rear to engage which it did with no problem, then I hit the button again for the front to engage which it did with no problem, then I hit the top of the button once to disengage the front locker. The front disengaged, but then I decided to try to put it into 2 wheel high without disengaging to see if the computer would automatically disengage it for me. In 2 high it stayed locked, so I accelerated to about 20 mph to see if it would unlock but it didn't. I think made some gentle turns to see if it truly was locked or if it was just the light sticking on. Sure enough, it stayed locked! I hit the top of the button one last time and it unlocked, so I either stumbled upon a glitch or it was modified by the prior owner to behave that way.

Thanks for your answers guys.
One more question, when ones says 4.10 gear ration does he/she mean an axle ratio or low rage ration?
(for example a LR Defender's low range ratio is 3.50)

32" should be enough for overland expeditions, isn't it?

Cheers!

it's 4.10 gearing at the axle differential. Some go up the 4.88 with larger tires, but 4.10 can work ok with up to 35".

That's good to know. I haven't tried that scenario.

It would still make a lot more sense to just be able to lock the rear in 2WD without having to go in and out of 4WD.

I would guess your rig is working correct, and this is just a "glitch", and not a bad glitch either. Haha.

I agree! It would be nice to be able to selectively lock in 2WD without first having to go into 4WD. In my Land Cruiser, as soon as you take it out of 4 low (full time 4WD no 2WD option) you can hear the locker click out, so there's no chance of having it locked not in 4 low.

I haven't taken much time to research, but it seems like something that would be all figured out by now? I imagine there could be some liability if someone were to put a retrofit wiring harness on the market?

gotta DIY !

Threw on some splash guards. AEV rear, and mopar front.

Trimmed the front guards at the top of the "jeep" emblem.

The AEV's sit about 13" off the ground as-is and the mopar's with my cut sit at about 12.5" off the ground.

I think trimming the front still leaves enough protection.

Used a cutting wheel for trimming . It's not perfect, but fine for my liking.
