Finally got all the parts I wanted to finish the main part of my winch installation.
I found maybe the only place called Custom Splice who has an off the shelf short drum fairlead. The dude over there was very cool, and typically only carried a clear aluminum finish version with their emblem etched on it. He killed for me and came up with a custom black anodized one without any markings. Long story, but I also have an identical one in powder coat to be green. Not 100% sure which will be the final one installed, but I mocked up the black, and I love it.
It is a lot thicker than the stock superwinch one. I believe this is a better option.
I also got a new winchline with the thimble style end.
I plan to either sell the line that came with the winch, or modify the winch connection end to have a loop? Then I can use it as an extension.
With the new holes I drilled in the winch mounting plate (for the smaller hole pattern of this winch), I am required to notch out the bottom lip of the bumper. You can see how the holes I drilled are half covered. The winch is temporarily held in place by the rear mount holes only. I didn't realize this conflict until I went to mount the bumper. It took a few minuets to figure out ******! took out the 2 front mount bolts, and bumper set in place like butter.
So, this is one other little task in addition to re-orienting the solenoid to help clean up the wire routing.
There's still some decent surf and it's like summer weather right now, so this project is still on hold. haha!

Great idea on the front flaps, and your winch is turning out freakin' awesome!
The loop idea for an extension would work great. One of the many benefits to Synthetic rope. Light weight and easy to store.
There are some good articles on the web on how to splice the rope back into itself to make that happen.

Made some progress on the winch.
I re-mounted the solenoid to a much better position/orientation for the wiring connection.
I made custom length wires. Crimped and heat shrunk with a bit of electrical tape. Then covered with plastic tube a zip ties.
I still need to route the main feeds back to the battery. I eventually want to have a switched solenoid in-line with the feed from the battery.
I also need to re-cut my new plastic chassis cover/shroud since I over cut the original one. I plan to also mount the winch controller plug in the plastic shroud. It would also be nice to do like the ok4WD JK with the winch on/off and controls in the cab s-pod switchbank.

Love this build. Do you have a parts list and pictures from the license plate relocation and the plate light wiring? I have the aev carrier and third brake light but would like to relocate my plate.

The light I used is by ORO (Off road only). Mine is the tail light/plate light combo. I am pretty sure they make one with just the license plate light, since you already have the 3rd brake light.
The only real wiring is getting the hot circuit from the right tail light to feed the license plate light.
The plate bracket I ended up using is the "rock hard". I trimmed it as much as I could without having to do any real modification to it. With my stock wheels it sticks out a bit, but with wider tires and less rim back space, it won't stick out.
The black plastic plug in place of the stock license plate mount is a MOPAR part. not sure of the #, but easy to find on the net.

When I went to install the viking 3/8" rope, it was just slightly larger diameter than the stock 3/8" rope that came with the winch.
Because of this, I had to use the set screw connection with the tiny metal loop threaded into the drum that came with the viking rope.
The screw that came with the rope was different than the winch drum set screw threads.
So, just for the hell of it, I threw on the stock rope.
Didn't have time to go back to the store that afternoon.

Budget Reverse Camera
For my winch: Still need to trim the new chassis cover. I actually like the controller plug being lose. I added some tubing and tape to make it more sturdy.
Next little project goes along with the tire carrier.
I am going to install a cheap back up camera system. supposedly it can tie into the 430 navigation, but needs a dealer re-flash. some might actually do it for free if in for another task?
The camera with some wiring, and drill bit was $9.99 with shipping. I've found good reviews of it.
The wiring harness to connect to the navigation was about $25 with shipping.
Since I will need to re-mount my antenna and 3rd brake/license plate lights, it's a good time to also add in the back up camera.
I will probably need to come up with some sort of a little angle bracket to mount it to. Same with the antenna, noir 100% sure what I am going to do until the carrier is mounted.

Tire carrier mounted. Rear visibility with the stock tires is still ok.
Next thing is to re-mount my 2M antenna. Don't want it to be in conflict with the fuel carrier or the lift/pullpal mount, but I am also not using the tall pole. I am keeping it low like I had so it gets in and out of the garage with minimal deflection.
Also am going to mount the camera on the bottom of the license plate. The dealer I got it from has a policy NOT to re-flash navigation systems to work with a "Non-OEM" camera, but they said it should work.

Installed a hellwig rear sway bar. Larger diameter than stock. It is not too much larger than stock.
I was able to get the old one out and this one is by disconnecting the brake line mounts on the side of the chassis. I didn't even have to remove the wheels.
So far the oversteer is a bit more stable and solid. I have yet to drive the twisty roads I am normally on, so that will be the true test to see how much difference the larger bar made. Versus some other sway bars I have upgraded, it seems this one could have been a bit larger still. Cost $200 total. I figure my tires will wear at least $200 longer and flatter with the larger bar over time.

with the AEV tire carrier I had to re-mount my 2M antenna. It was previously mounted to the stock door mounted tire carrier.
I mounted 2 U-bolts around the vertical tube, and mounted the diamond antenna mount and the u-bolts through a chuck of 1/8" x 2" steel. Painted it green. done…. for now.
