The super fancy trucks don't do it for me. I've had everything from full load lariats to platinums, I just like a well optioned XLT. Most recently I had an 18 hard load lariat f150, traded it in for a 19 XLT (the truck this thread is about,) and I could care less about the extra features.
I won't keep something out of warranty so I really don't care about the operating costs. Purchase price is one of the reasons I usually go half ton, but the atrocious ride of an empty one ton is the main reason. Love the 6.7 though...

I get that. I have a 301A XLT Sport FX4. The only things I really wish it had was a remote start and the 4A 4X4.
I don't know why Ford can't follow Ram and GM and offer auto 4WD on trims lower than a Lariat.
Ram made it an option on Rebels now. Jeep is offering Select-Trac on Gladiators for 2021 and GM started offering Auto-Trac on their HD's for 2020.
For the 6 months that I drive on snow / ice covered highways, it would be nice....
Remote start is an easy fix though.

Lol...you might want to look at the cost of changing the oil and fuel filters on the 6.7.
The 6.7 is a beast, I know a couple of guys with them. If it was me, I'd still go with the 7.3 and add enough boost to make up the power difference...haha.

I have a 2020 F250 Tremor with the 6.7 and couldn’t be happier. I’ve already put over 10k miles on it. The power is intoxicating and the fuel mileage is insane (23 mpg no problem at 55-60 mph, with factory 35’s). I got the Lariat because I wanted the sport (black out) package. I didn’t get the ultimate package because I didn’t want all the bells and whistles (like the sunroof).
I’ll probably never tow over 5000 lbs, but I do plan on a lot of huge trips with my 4500 lb off road camper. It’s nice not losing a ton of fuel mileage, having great range, and not feeling like it’s even back there. I also like having the diesel option of getting a larger 55 gallon titan tank or an aux fuel tank for the bed.
Also, diesels come with the 100k mile power train warranty and you can get the extended bumper to bumper 7 year 150k with a $200 deductible for around $3600. Haven’t decided if I’ll pull the trigger on that yet, have until I hit 36k miles to decide.
I’ll be having a local Ford dealer install a Carli lift/wheels/tires so there’s no concerns about it impacting my warranty.
All of the above aside, I’m on several different Tremor groups and have yet to see a single person say they regret getting the 7.3L Godzilla motor! As much as I love my Ford (I previously had a 2013 F250), if I wanted a gas full sized, it’d be hard to look past the Power Wagon for it’s off road capabilities.

I hear you on the 4A option. My Suburban had it and I used it a lot. Here in Colorado we can go from blizzard to 60 degrees in the space of 2 days so it's nice having the 4A option on intermittently-slick roads.
But it's interesting to me that your truck doesn't have remote start? My 2018 is an XLT and it does have it. I thought it was part of the XLT package? Mine is even Canadian-spec (XTR.)
EDIT: Now that I look at it I see mine has the 302A. Not sure of the difference between 301A and 302A but it looks like the 302A package include the remote start.

You can add remote start for 120.00.

Yep. I think with 302A you get remote start, heated seats, 8 way instead of 6 way power seat, the XTR (chrome package is included) rear sliding window, 8" screen.... Mine is just a 301A.

Yeahhhhh..... I think the installation of anything electrical on my truck will be left to professionals....
