86 Land Rover Defender 110 shop truck project

I'd looked on britishwiring.com for the terminals, but hadn't found them. I got an email back from them though with a link to http://www.britishwiring.com/1-4-Spade-Terminal-For-Housings-9-14-28-Stran-p/c226.htm so I'll buy those and hope they fit.

I totally forgot about the glass fuses until I saw your new post.

Fuse boxes are easier to replace in a pinch because if you don't have a spare, you can use a staple as a connector

Great idea! Now I can replace the spare fuses I keep in the truck with a stapler! This will be a big help whenever I'm out on the trail and think, "now how am I going to keep these two pieces of paper together?"

Yes, you need the c226 but also get a bunch of c228 as many wires are crimped together in pairs, get lots of extras as it's easy to mess up the crimps.

Hmm, thanks. I've already placed my order, and 20 C228s are going to cost me > $30 with shipping and tax. Are they a requirement or just nice to have? I ordered 60 of the c226 terminals, which gives me 50% more than I theoretically need.

A junkyard 300tdi ready to get torn down and assessed


This R380 is from a discovery which won't drop into a Defender because of the shifter location. However there is a easy way to fix this


This adapter from Ashcroft lets you use your Defender shifter on a Discovery gear box


The defender and discover shifter side by side


The tdi still has the older problematic timing belt pulley, this need to go


A new genuine Land Rover timing belt update kit


There is something very comforting about using genuine parts


The cylinders look to be in good shape with little wear


After the motor is resealed and a new clutch installed it is mated up to the transmission and transfer case









A new bulkhead extender needed when converted to 300tdi


new door shells


The seat boxes were bead blasted and galvanized


The seat box needed to be swapped out to a newer unit to accommodated the more forward position of the transfer case when mated to a 300tdi

Left side like turbo site? My 300tdi is still on a pallet if you need a photo.
