Ahhhhh, the things you find on an old vehicle when you start digging in. It was just dimpled and covered with Bondo. It will be cut out and replaced with new sheet metal.

Another batch of hardware out of the shaker. The rubber bushings are isolators for the radiator. They were hard and crusty with rust residue etc. I tried to order a new set but they are NLA. I figured what the hell and tossed them in the shaker, came out clean and soft again, cool!
One thing I personally like about a Resto/Mod as opposed to a true Resto is you are not held to OEM colors etc. I am happy how the two tone black turned out, works well with the aluminum

All OEM tape and loom removed
After all OEM engine related wire removed. Tape/loom/tape went back on the new pared down harness.
