Add one more Cherokee...

Uh-oh...

The Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac has a 245/75R16 in load range C. I really like this size, and I really want to keep the 16" wheels. What say ExPo?

Nice score.....

Why only a 3" lift.....why not 4.5" ?
I was going to go with a 3 on mine, but learned from going with a 3 on my Dodge that for the $, I should have went for 5 ...thus getting 4.5 for the XJ.
I think one generally always wishes for a bit more after installing them.

Because the higher you lift, the worse the control arm angle, and the more the tire is pushed FORWARD over bumps, transferring a lot of shock through the arm and into the weak unibody. Also, the taller you go, the more likely that you need a slip yoke eliminator.

That's why I'm at 2" with 31" tires.

Never had them but they look very aggressive yet still an All Terrain.
Seems to have good lugs on the sidewall for when you air down.

Let us know if ya get them!

let me guess.... a 2.5" rear spring with a full lengh add a leaf instead of the springs with the heavy overide spring in it. Thats a good combo for OME and you can allways throw another full lengh spring in it if you need to.

Yeah I came across a few pictures of your Jeep while looking around Craigslist... ;) It looks good, man. Are you still selling it?

Its for sale, but its also priced so if it sells I wont be upset. If it dosen't well I will keep it. Trust me If I had to sell it I would demod it and sell you the lift if you still wanted it back.

How about a couple of pics of the 245 duratracs? I'm looking at that size too and want to see em in the flesh - errrr on the screen.

Can't find em local to see 245s.

I don't have them on the Jeep yet, so I don't have any pictures of the Duratracs... Gimme a week. ;-)

What I can tell you though is that they are mean-looking. Lots of biting edges with generous siping, with varying distances between tread blocks. Held up against the same size BFG Mud Terrain, it looks like it could hold it's own in the gooey stuff. The sidewalls are aggressively knuckled as well. I'm excited to test these out, since I feel kind of like the Guinea pig for them.

Finally got some work done this weekend.

I took the leaf springs apart to put the overload spring into the pack. I thought this was a good time to make sure they won't squeak. I sprayed a layer of white lithium grease between all the springs.

All the stuff together, waiting for installation.

Sometimes, it needed some persuasion with a bit of Jig-A-Loo.:sombrero:

I enjoy comparing old and new parts. I think it helps appreciate them both.
