That' almost the same install as I've done for my Cobra 75, and its worked great. I added a disconnect point through the plastic on the side of the console, but to this day I've never disconnected it...
For antennas, the mag mounts work just fine - sometimes better than the alternatives. The problem with them is that they are more susceptible to tree limb abuse, especially when they are mounted on the roof.
I've got a 4' whip that I mounted on my ARB with a spring and a quick disconnect. I drilled into the top plate near the passenger corner, and ground down the powdercoat to get a good ground for the antenna. Not sure if I'd recommend the location, but I didn't want to drill into the body, and the bed was a no-go for me. I may move it to the back bumper at some point.
