Best value Suburban as an all arounder

I am looking forward to seeing pics of your suburban Unabash. we all love pics. Also the 10:Wow1: door vehicle pictures above is an International Travelall if I am not mistaken... Cheers, Chilli...:)

i have had 3 suburbans 1989 1500, 1991 1500, and last year i purchased a 96 k2500, 7.4 4wheel drive and we also have a 2000 yukon denali. that being said , i love the ride and power of my 96.the big block does not rev up fast but still has plenty of power ,but i did find that a good exhaust really wakes up this beast

This is the only pic I have at the moment.

Coming from the Jeep world, I've always found their forums plentiful and well organized. Trying to find a suburban specific forum that is year/model specific has proven itself impossible so far. What do you guys use?

Correct, it's a Travelall. I remember seeing stretched Travelall's as airport limos in the 70's.
.
Travelall's actually had a 4 door configuration years before Chevy did with the Suburban. I think the first 4 door Travelall's were 1959 or 60. Suburbans went to 3 doors in 1967 and didn't get 4 doors until 1973.

I've had decent luck with the Tahoe/Yukon forum here:
.
http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/
.
It does have sub-boards that are broken down by generations, so there is a separate area for the GMT-400 vehicles like yours. (they use the terms "OBS", "NBS" and "NNBS" to refer to the GMT-400, GMT-800 and GMT-900 platforms, respectively.)
.
Obviously it is more oriented towards the Tahoe/Yukon than the Burb. Also you will find that it is generally more "street" oriented (lots of lowered/slammed trucks, big stereos, etc.) But there are sections for lifted/Z71/4x4 trucks and a pretty good source of technical info as well.
.
Nice thing about it is that it is a very 'active' forum so there are lots of people posting every day, which means lots of experience and institutional knowledge. I found a couple of other full sized Chevy forums but they were dead in terms of activity - 1 or 2 posts a day, if that.
.
EDITED TO ADD: Besides being more "street" oriented than "off road", the other drawback to the Tahoe/Yukon forum is that the site itself has a lot of flash advertising and is rather "buggy." But if you can invest the time, as I said, there's a lot of institutional knowledge there.

z71tahoe-suburban.com - this was my first forum I joined 12 years ago. Tons of information is there - over 500K worth of posts. I have never found it to be "buggy" and plagued with ads like some other forums. Very friendly environment, unlike some other forums where if you poke your head in you get stomped on...

Thanks for that update Martin. You certainly know your `Burbs´...:wings:

Thanks guys! It mainly seems to be the fact that the different vehicles all have a myriad of identical parts, followed up by differing parts. Oh boy. I'll figure it out eventually. I just don't like having to jump around from forum to forum.

I should probably start my own thread at this point...
