Well... That was predictable.... Headsmack....:ugh:

Agreed, it was.

You see David, when faced with facts, i.e; photographic and video proof of poor workmanship, you decided to play the "innocent until proven guilty" card. This level of ignorance will likely get you called a dummy by random ************** on the internet, like myself, because the aforementioned proof is CLEARLY ambiguous.

Soooo...We done here pal? I can keep this up all day... I have no life and absolutely LOVE getting a rise out of know-it-all pricks on the internet!!! Teeheeee!

Seee....Karma IS just and fair, but sometimes, 'aint it just a ********** though?

Nobodyhome, I'm not on CCV's side, but people like you are the reason I don't hang out here much anymore.

You must be pretty honest, not having a life and all. You should go get one. I'm also curious who got a rise out of whom?

Oh, just read your bio here too. Looks like a pretty good advertisement for CCV. How strange.

Ohh yeah, like i said, i had high hopes for them, i was really let down. Originally i wanted to have them do my van, but i bailed when Matt told me the price tag, 7 GRAND... on a 2 grand van, no thanks.

So, anyways, Thanks for reminding me about that... by the way... stalk much ?

This week is the week...
Installer who did my top is scheduled to be at my place Thursday late or early Friday to make repairs (I don't have absolute confirmation yet but this is the plan)

I was also told by CCV not to use the top until then since I am having problems with the mechanism.

Any update on your top?

Any update on your top?

Well here is an update, basically the info I sent Derek Thurs night after the work was done... did not hear back from him Friday, so hopefully Monday.

Replaced bulb seal
Tightened bolts at pivot point, they still auger*
Repaired carpet at harness and clamps
Adjust actuators, closes less crooked
Trimmed top near corner of drivers door for better clearance at the seal and door corner
Dome light is missing a harness, there is nothing to connect it too**
Plastic black & white outdoor mat at your shop is mine, it was never put back in my van (please send it back)
Panel at slider door cannot be put in place due to wood frame from top, it is physically impossible to set the clips in place, and it never was in place***

*Bolt action has worn the metal in scissors thin at the very tip, there is a lot of metal wear. A sleeve or something needs to inserted to tighten up the loose play. This will wear out, its just a matter of when. A start would be new scissor pieces (or what ever you call them) and take additional steps from there, like the previously mentioned sleeve/insert.

**This will have to be troubleshooted by a shop, a new harness acquired and installed.

***This appears to be something that will have to be custom fit.

========

This leaves the gelcoat, waiting to hear how CCV wants to proceed with this.

tequilasunset, sorry to hear about the ongoing troubles.

Id like to extend an offering if I may.

I know North Idaho is a stretch, but...

You provide the beer and materials, and Ill provide the labor, shop space, tools to get you fixed up.

Just tell me if/when you can make the drive, and Ill work to free up my schedule to make it happen.

Dayum... that's a huge offer, thank you... you never know, I just might take you up on this. I have some ideas in my head how to correct the pivot point, but haven't yet looked closely to see if the mental picture could work.

One step at a time right now... need the response from CCV... thanks again!!!

Dayumm! That's an offer. Say, my 24 yr old injectors are probably needing replaced and I can't get Ford to do a dang thing about it. Hmmmm??? :D

Wow just got done reading this WHOLE thread. First of all tequila ....God bless the man with your patience !!! Also I would like to say your answers to people who disagreed no matter how great or small were OUTSTANDING ! Your right everyone is untitled to there own opinion. Again showing your class !
But here is my take ..." A picture is worth a thousand words" in your case probably a million.
I am not a van guy, but shame on anyone who does business with this guy after seeing this thread.
Hope your made whole and take up the offer from Idaho , you sound like you could use a trip right about now.

May god make smooth the paths you travel

id bet a couple of steel sleeves could be welded into material of the "scissor" mechanism. and with the use of a proper shoulder bolt should be fine and last a LONG time (especially with a shot of grease every now and again)

shouldn't be too hard to wire up a light (but you shouldn't HAVE to)

id be just as pissed.

Weld a 1" long sleeve to the outside of each cross brace exactly where the pivot point is, then use a bolt with a shoulder long enough to not have threads in the sleeves.
