I am afraid that my HILO trailer is lacking the structural integrity to deal with the torsional stresses and want to isolate it from them as much as possible.

I am still waffling on the final frame design but will need to decide soon as I am approaching that phase of the project. I think I will be solid mounting a significant subframe and then doing a three point mount from that to the trailer frame. This trailer really compresses in height so I have a lot of space to work with. I will be able to mount it quite high and still have the top below cab level. It looks like I have about 16" to work with between the truck frame(lower section) and the camper frame. I am hoping to have a compartment that goes the full width of the truck between the fuso frame and the camper in the center of the wheelbase that will fit two 37" spare tires side by side. I feel the benefits of having them out of sight and having the weight centered in the wheelbase are worth the extra effort.

Adding additional height means you'll have to contend with extending a set of steps to enter the camper. Having to store them when not in use could prove problematic.

That is exactly what I thought of when he mentioned having all that space under the camper. Air Force One has one that extends out from under the side of it for when there are no roll up steps to use.
I was thinking a cross ways tray for the steps to slide out of but your slide out patio is a nice feature. Gives a person the side of the truck to use as sort of a handrail.

Even still I think it's exactly the solution and I applaud you bringing up the Video.

Being a Designer and a creative kind of guy, I will spend hours typing up a response to a question or problem, just so people can get a mental picture what it takes me a split second to design in my head.
You saved me a LOT OF TYPING.

Not to mention it's a Great Idea.

I may have to build one for my Class A Coach. I'm finding that as I get older I'm having more difficulty descending the 3 steep steps I have to use to exit my Coach.
Three on the automatic steps and two inside the coach.

I have a Basement compartment made to hold snow skies that I don't use to transport the steps inside.

Got the box painted today. Used raptor bedliner with a custom color match. It was metallic. Never again! Very difficult to get an even coat with a roller. Results are acceptable but not great.

Began the subframe construction this afternoon. This project thus far has been completely solo. Nice to have my friend Bill volunteer for the next few days!

I had always thought of my "Fido" project as of the same caliber as Air Force One..... Thank you for confirming my delusions!!

If you are using a spring mount system to attach your subframe to the chassis, I do not know if these are really necessary, but they can't hurt.

I think the Raptor stuff cures too quickly to be able to roller it.

We sprayed it using the splatter gun that comes with the 4 quart kit. It goes on thin but pretty even. I learned you don't want to build it up thick (more than about 2 or 3 thin coats). I tried to build up a section to 1/8" thick and it cracked and shrank when drying. It is pretty durable though when thin.

The camper needs some graphics, I've always been fond of the Daktari Zebra print pattern.
