ArkPak explanation....
In an effort to assist with several of the questions and queries that have been asked recently about the various functions of the ArkPak Power Pack (or battery box to be more precise) and what you can and can't do with it, I thought it might help if I commented on a few of them:
* SOUND LEVEL: It is true that there is a very feint hum as the in-built fan cools the PCB board. However as I think Mike said earlier, you'll never notice it during the day.... it's only in the quiet of nightime that you'll generally notice it. So then all you do it put the ArkPak into what we call "silent mode" or "sleep mode" as some call it. Which simply means turning off the blue time-tracker LCD screen. This shuts off the fan, but still allows the ArkPak to continue to power all of your devices whilst you are sleeping !
* IPHONES & IPADS: We have extensively tested iPhones and iPads with the ArkPak - both in our lab and also out in the field (see our Ark Dirty Weekend Away video at
www.arkportablepower/videos and have found it charges both of them perfectly - so no worries on that score.
* LONGEVITY OF POWER: Someone commented earlier that the ArkPak should give you a "couple of days of power"..... but in fact with an Exide 120 amp hour battery in the Arkpak, we recently ran a 40 litre Engel Fridge/Freezer for 11 days, and our tests have shown that on average you should get at least days of 12V and 3 days of 110V power with the largest size 130ah battery.
Hope that helps answer a few more questions for people.... best thing is to watch the online video -
