Love having fun 😊 in the 🌞 by the ⛵ and the ⏳
.... (gotta find a good contact in Yemen or Saudi for the parts....:snorkel:)[/IMG]

Why go to the Middle East since your 70 is a Kanukistan rig, why not go to Toyota locally first, then a Toyota dealer (Canyon Creek Toyota) in Calgary (they have experience with these) and lastly Japan or Australia Toyota Dealer (I have listings).

I get good prices and fast turnarounds from Japan and OZ as well as numerous local (W. Kanukistan) dealers/part sources.

I haven't even pulled the p/numbers for the a/c stuff....I'll likely see what I can get in North America first though....

Thanks to Michael at West Coast Cruisers (www.westcoastcruisers.com) I sourced an OEM Toyota snorkel.

Install is pretty straight forward, especially since I've installed several Safari snorkels before....this time, without a template, it was a measure three or four times, cut a little....test fit....drill a little....test fit....and it works out fine!

First, the upper A pillar mount:

Then, the front and rear bolt holes, along with the main, rectangular air inlet hole:

Cleaned up with some touch up paint to prevent rust....

Inside inlet:

Final product!

The OEM design has two pieces to the body of the snorkel, originally sealed by foam weatherstripping. I removed this and sealed the pieces with a liberal amount of silicone RTV. Additionally, the body to snorkel fittings were sealed with RTV, so it should do a very good job at being watertight, compared to the original OEM seals.

I originally did not order the replacement airbox, figuring I'd just modify the airbox that was in the rig. Since the install, I've decided to order the OEM Toyota airbox for a nice, clean fit.

Just a liberal amount of black RTV silicone in place of the OEM foam, and it should be watertight from the snorkel head to the airbox. No problems at all.

Airbox is in! Once again, OEM Toyota stuff is so easy to install!

Now...gotta find some deep water.....
