Spence-- What kind of ventilation do you use for the plasma table? We've been messing with that for a while now.......

Going right for the heart! I see how it is!

Ventilation is a rather significant problem. Right now I have a 10" duct fan which I pipe up to a flange on the bottom of the table and shoot out the back door. This time of year (5 degrees outside right now) it sucks......all the heat right out of my shop that is. This shop is temporary, and the new one I'm moving into will have a main ventilation system with an air to air HRU. Its really the only way to fly up this way. Between the water based coolant fumes, welding fumes, and plasma fumes, I need it. I love the table, but the ancillary components required to safely run it are a bit of a PITA.

No!! I was just curious because we've been toying with different ways to vent our system that has blanketed the entire shop in plasma ash. We just picked up a vent system & boxed in the table to help. It made a huge difference, but still not 100%. It almost looked like your setup had a water table, I've heard they work very well.

My "Backup" system (i.e. the one I pay to use up the road when I want to cut 1" plate) uses a water table. It is great for catching the dross/slag, but does nothing for the smoke.

I'll see if I can take some more pic's but here is my Shop. 30x45 Steel Span with a single 10x14 roll up door. I put this thing up myself with the help of some REALLY GOOD friends. I also did all of the wiring. the shop has it's own electrical service( 200 Amp). Piped in Compressed air, 120 outlets and lights everywhere. I devoted one corner in front to a welding station. Have a Southbend Lathe and Cheap-o Mill drill, Welder, brake, tube bender, and such.

Only had the shop closed in for about a week before my Jeep project started. I still have some loose ends to tie up on the shop. I like the building for it's over head clearance without being too tall(15' to the center). A pole barn would have been easier to build but way to tall to get the interior head room.

Only stayed this clean until the floor sealer dryed!

Some seriously nice shops here!

I've come to the conclusion that I need to figure out a way to make some serious coin. It's killin' me every time I squeeze in and out my gnome sized shack. It wouldn't surprise me to find that a lot of these are bigger than our whole property (which is about 3,000 sq feet).

On two garages I have built in the past I used plywood for the inside walls instead of drywall. Could hang stuff anywhere. Loved it.

I'm hoping to have it all wrapped up by June other then some concrete work for the driveway and drywall that I'll finish up later. It will be great to finally have good shop space again so I can get some of my vehicular projects up to speed.
