Four By Land's Discovery

Looking great, like the risers! You'll love that SP cook set. Make sure and season the frying pan well. When you do the initial heat on the frying pan to burn off the sacrificial coating make sure you don't leave it on for too long or too high, ask me how I know:Wow1:

Dude, it is only a bumper...no need for such strong words on a family oriented site...chill Win-ston.

I am sure the little kiddies checkin this site know that GD is slang on the streets for Greg Davis.

You guys busy this weekend?

Curious... why did you choose to go off the front of the hood instead of the bull bar for the risers?

Also, how did you install the hood mounts? Did you use a specific mount?

Pete

Pete,

Did Richard (Muddy) tell you to say that???

I actually wanted to go off of the front bumper but Lowes doesn't carry a bracket large enough to caress the brush guard and I figured that the 2 points were so close that it really just wasn't that much of an issue.

They will still function the same.

What happens if you leave it on too long?

Thanks for the tip by the way!

:1888fbbd: The finish on the inside of the pan will peel away. I actually ended up taking some fine steel wool to remove the rest of the finish and now season it like a cast iron pan in order to keep food from sticking to it.

The truck is coming together quite nicely.

Thanks buddy!

Hey if you ever get a chance to pull that rear bracket and maybe even the CB mount those would be fun to try and mimic at work...

The CB mount sure, the antenna mount not-so-much. I have to pull a bit of the interior out for that. Plus the wiring runs from the front of my truck, in the interior tube of the mount, behind the panels, under the carpeting, and through the factory rear door loom. I'm sure we can figure something out though. :ylsmoke:

Greg Davis rear bumper

So the bumper arrived on Thursday and plans fell through to have it welded that evening so in an attempt to stay on schedule and not let my good buddy Tacodoc down I loaded Sadie with every intention of spending the weekend in Death Valley with my new bumper in place.

So Friday morning I showed up to work about an hour and a half late and packed around the bumper and through out the day and in between work and what not I trimmed quarter panels, welded the sliders on added a quick coat of paint put my tools away amd out of nowhere the boss said "get outta here, we will clean up on Monday" well he didn't have to tell me twice. I picked up Lindsay and headed for Kramers Juction

Okay, enough talking here are some pics!

Hey,

Long time no hear from.

The first photo is the trail leaving Stone cabin and the second one is from Panamint near the "entering Death Valley " sign.
