Anyone have any pics of some home/custom built fridge slides? I am going design one for my 60 liter Norcold using a pair of 600# slides and just wanted to see if any has some cool ideas out there.

We have done extensive research into making fridge slides.

The crux of the matter is the choice of the slide.

You want it to be a 100% extension, and you want it to be the strongest and best made slide available.

If you choose the latter your costs are $$$ but the end product will survive your exploits.

Going less expensive usually results in early failure.

The slides I have are 3" tall and were used in a cabinet to hold batteries. They are multistage extension type and are rated for 600lbs.

Where did you source these?

Dave,

I posted my pics more as a reference than anything else.

You can utilize your slides by using some angle iron with a 3" or bigger leg on it, and bolting your slides to it.

To create a platform, invert the angle for the inner portion, and create some kind of cross pieces to support the fridge.

I believe it was XCMOUNTAIN80 that did something very similar.

I used to have a tailgate slide setup for a big Kennedy toolbox. Loaded, it was probably 150 pounds or more. It was also a multi-stage system (two sets of sliders on each side), using hardware I sourced from McMaster-Carr.

In the back of my truck....I made a carpet pad with foam under it....

I just cut out where the fridge sits...slides out easy and stays put in spirited driving......

This is a temp setup....I'm now looking getting a slide lock and building a drawer system..

But....it has really worked great!.....I can pull the fridge out on to the trailgate and back again with no problems

:)
