Gen 2.5 Mitsubishi Montero 2000 - Over-landing Family Truck - long term enhancement

It had been a busy week for me. I had A.D.D winch plate for months but didnt have a chance to install due to work.

The winch plate is super sturdy and fit perfectly.

Several issues that I had is the layout and size of how my Smittybilt winch sitting on the plate.

My winch is a tad too tall, and rubbed oil cooler a bit. Little adjustment and loosen couple screws - it is all good.

All in all, it was fun project. I also managed to repaint my A.D.D bumper and high lift.

What frustrated me that after I installed everything, I forgot to wire a negative cable.....so I had to unscrew everything and started from beginning...SMH.🤣🤣

Probably took me about 12 hours with welding, fitting, filling and cursing.

I finally done with my procrastination.

Bought a new free wheel clutch control solenoid to fix stupid 4x4 blinking lights.

I can’t believe I endure this stupid blinking lights for nearly 4 years and it took me less than 15 minutes to fix SMH...

New solenoid that I bought from Amazon

Location of old clutch control, it’s right behind air intake box

Installed

tada!! No more blinking 4x4

Nice! That free wheel clutch control solenoid replacement was perfectly timed! Mine just started blinking way more frequently and I'm over it. LOL Great build man, I've been watching but not commenting. Keep it up!

How is the Monstaliner holding up? Curious to see how it holds up to desert pin striping? Any thing staining the color? My Montero's paint is so thing in places I swear bare metal is almost showing. Clear coat and my Montero broke up a long time ago.

Monstaliner is holding up real good. No problem with striping ever again.

However there was one small spot on my hood staining my color a bit but not noticeable. Not sure what it was to be honest.

Finally have a chance to work on the truck.

Weeks ago when I was driving home, my fuel gauge started to drop, and I found out it was a faulty fuel tank gauge unit.

So I ordered a new one. There are tons of aftermarket but for this one, I rather pay a bit more for OEM.

Went to local junk yard to pick up side mirror, but it was broken as well... SMH however, I ended up picking some small parts that were missing when I bought my ride.

4 dollars total.
