Does the volt meter stay constant on all the time?

I really like how clean of an install it turned out. I would have no idea that was not a "factory" installed item.

Now excuse me .....I must get back to watching this thunderstorm dump untold inch's of water in my jeep with no top or doors. -great!

You XJ boys got it good. :p

Hey HesterJ

The way it is wired up now, yes. The mA draw is so low that it will barely touch the battery even if you were to leave it on 24 x 7 x 365. I was looking at it again and think I might wire it up with a switch inline so I can switch it on and off to check. I read about a few others with these (how I found them) and they leave them on all the time. Did turn out clean and looks great all lit up.

Pouring rain here right now too. and yes, having a top is nice!

Got a little work done to the trailer today. I removed the lunette ring from the front of the trailer. It is at least 20 pounds and I don't use it anymore, or at least not now so it will sit in the garage until such time as I do use it again (not for sale BTW). I also modded the nose wheel to tuck WAY up under the tongue and I keep it in place there with a retainer pin/ring. It worked out ok, with the exception of some grinding to do to make it perfect. It was getting late, too late to run a grinder so I will have to finish it tomorrow. No pics until it is finished... needed to do this for a while, finally jumped in, worked out sweet.

I also spent some time helping out a buddy with his new tear drop build! This was a big step as it was the first assembly of the side panels to the floor (ok any panels to anything). This thing is going to be killer. Excellent size and really super light. I will leave it up to him to post up pics, don't want to spill the beans for him and steal his thunder. lol If he decides to manufacture them, I think I would consider selling the CDN M101 and buying one!

Oh NOS!

Oh and now that I removed the lunette, I don't have anything to grab on to while I am dragging the trailer around... I guess a tongue extension handle is in my future?

wow Greg!! trailer is really looking great! can't wait to see that Teardrop :D

Thanks Cody, its coming along, have you even seen it in person yet?? And yeah the TD is pretty sweet, I love the size, and the fact it will be super light. It is designed around 35" MT's and the track width of a Jeep Wrangler JK... supposed to be the ultimate JK accessory I hear?

:)

Your going to get a STD now? I mean a TD? Lol

Ha ha... (awkward). If I do, I am pretty sure I will have to move into it and live there on a permanent basis, well if my wife finds out that is? She is understanding with this trailer...to a point. I asked her a few weeks ago about selling our Travel Trailer and getting a TD with an RTT on the roof for the kids, her comment was "NO *********G way!"

SO I guess that is a solid "maybe"?

Hey HesterJ.

Yeah, RTT's are "Soooooooo 2012!" Or "Teardrops, so HAWT now!" your choice...lol The new fuse panel is about 1/2 full IIRC?Let me see...

Current =

Lights Nose Box
Lights Perimeter
Lights Tub/inner
Water Pump
USB Charger
External Tent Light(s)

So currently 6 of 12 slots used.

Future =

Tent USB Charger
Exterior Camp Light

SO I did a little work today. Wrote up a BIG post with pics, lost the whole thing? So much for "Auto Save" I see popping up all the time. Anyhow, here is goes, abbreviated this time to save typing.

Nose wheel mod (the Tuck Job) done.

Lunette removed and attempt at cap failed (back to the drawing board). Still like 25$ lighter than with it still there.

Simple rocker switch installed in line with Voltage Meter so I can turn it on and off now.

New 18 LED light from Lucidity LED bought for "Camp Light". Probably over kitchen?

Installed Quick Fist clamps on XJ rack for the new shovel I picked up. Been holding on to those clamps for 5 years!! Still have 4 left to use too...woot!!

And last but not least, I picked up a Scepter spout for my Scepter Military Fuel Cans. I can now actually get the gas out of them when I put it in...very useful feature.

More tomorrow including that bloody CB install. Still trying to get to that!!

Would a simple engine block freeze plug fill that Lunette hole? Or a axle dust cover? What was the reason for the cover?

Thanks for expanding on the fuse block. I was doing a simple sketch drawing last night while everyone was asleep. Seems harder (at first) to come up with 12 things to fuse individually on a simple build.

Yeah, I wondered about that too. Some of the stuff I have I probably could have run together, but I had 12 so... Oh and you can also get the exact same Blue Sea power distribution and fuse block in a 6 slot configuration. Was about $15 or so cheaper too.

Landing gear mod looks nice.

Yeah, should work out well (and thanks). I think I will cut the top corners of the "U" channel off on an angle to keep it from getting hung up as well, more in line with the casting in the front. One more thing to do I just noticed now while looking at the pics again. lol
