I am looking for an ambulance or other high quality/reliable vehicle with enough room as possible

(EDIT: the owner finally told me after a couple weeks of me planning to buy that it isnt actually a 7.3 engine and is a 6.0 ford, so the deal is off, some of the questions in the post still apply but i am no longer going to buy this.)

I have been in contact with a seller that has a 2007 Ford/Horton Ambulance and I am not sure if it is going to have the space I need for my conversion, I have to go across the country to get it so im trying to find out if it might work, does anyone know about what kind of space a type 1 ambulance gets, i am just at 6 ft without shoes on and it has a 72" ceiling. I am looking for enough space to put a good bed, a large workstation/desk next to a very large window to use as a vendor window (which needs to be added), a kitchen area near the spare seat/cabinets wall. I dont know if a full bed that would work for someone 6 ft would be able to be put somewhere and still have enough space,

Mostly I am trying to find out if anyone knows details about this box that is visible on this ambulance if they know what type, model, size, manufacture, quality, layout, comparison to other boxes, if this is a larger model of box, etc.

Any information at all is useful, also looking to know what that section above the cab is for, how hard it would be to get a hitch added on for a trailer, any additions like front sleeper section over cab, 4 wheel drive, tires spaced out/ lift added, raptor liner coating added, the large window added to the passenger side wall, etc.

also especially does anyone know about the best way to get insurance and title and all the ownership of an ambulance online or the best way to get the ownership transferred and insurance applied while i have flown to where it is located so that I can have it ready to pick up when i get to it with all ownership setup? And does anyone know the best way to get insurance on a vehicle like this? the owner says that it has statefarm insurance on it as a regular commercial vehicle for about $800 a year because it doesnt qualify for RV yet because it doesnt have water systems, etc.

And does anyone know the best way to get a good sized water tank and shower and toilet setup also or an outdoor shower if needed, would the water tank be able to be placed underneath the vehicle or would it go somewhere else and where could a toilet of some kind or shower be placed? does anyone recommend outdoor showers or certain toilets that would fit or water tanks or anything like that?

Here is the picture of the ambulance and box:

Ambulances are pretty compact. That one ^^^ has lots of rear overhang. Depending on what you are towing and the tongue weight a hitch is an easy addition, the frame runs to the bumper. But the overhang adds lots of leverage to a heavier trailer.

You will never find anything built more solid or with better doors, storage compartments.
Starting with a Ford F Series, 4WD should be a bolt on conversion using just Ford 4WD parts.

There are lots of threads on the forum of guys lifting the roof which adds headroom plus adds room for that cabover bunk. I'd put the main bed over the rear storage.... this is my dream layout.
Storage under the double bunk.

Note he went with a high clearance 2WD front end. Way better ride and he had no need for 4WD in Baja. The negative on ambulances are exterior storage doors which are kinda skinny. But incredibly durable. Build to be slammed shut 100 times a day.

Most ambulances also come with incredible electrical systems and rear air and are pretty generic. The spec for the box is pretty much universal in North America. Systems, storage, layout, doors, overall height..... the bulk of ambulance specs are identical. They all put the same things in the same place so new crews feel comfortable and in an emergency can just go to the medical equipment they need. Unless you have the budget to tear it apart and rebuild it, ambulances are about working with what god gave you. A UHaul is a blank sheet.... Ambulances are all about compromize.

so your saying this one has a good bit of extra space and it should be very easy to convert it to 4WD?

Since you are asking the question, I wonder about
so your saying this one has a good bit of extra space and it should be very easy to convert it to 4WD?
easy to convert...... depends on the skill of the person asking..... I never said it was spacious, quite the opposite, ambulances are built to do a specific task and quite compact hence the headroom issue. They are also built like a Volvo and far more difficult than a box truck to modify.

Me, I'd not consider this one. Far too much overhang. I'd prefer the blank sheet of a U-Haul van on an F Series chassis..... I'd also keep the duals and 2WD. But that was not the question.....

Extra space..... yeah it is huge compared to what I need. Is it big enough for you? Do you mind the rear overhang? Why are you adding a trailer ????

Howdy! if you are still in the market, My 1999 E450 7.3 psd ambo is up for sale with 95k miles. Conversion to a camper/moto hauler is in the beginning stage, but other projects are taking priority and this one should leave my driveway. In the process of removing the old wrap that was on it, and cleaning it up. Planning to ask $15k when it is shiny but willing to work out a deal before then.

already has:
Insulation, microwave, inverter, water tank, 30 Amp plug into the inverter, and will come with a generator.

let me know if you have any interest!
