I am finding it hard to say something about your comment without being too crass.

You have no idea what the builder's intent is with this single photo.
I would like to see how you would not end up with a "rather a oversized rectangle - rear window width" when you remove the OEM rear window.
It is simply an assumption to conclude that this will be the finished design.
Basically, to build a passthru you have to start somewhere, which will undoubtedly involve removing the rear window. Do you know another way???

Sure, you can fill this hole in, but that is definitely going to be your starting point.

With a rig like this, my project is self managed. Going to a major builder and asking for a turn key, drive away, be prepared to add $100K addition to the cost.

I did not see this challenge until just recently. The location for attaching the rear spring bracket is actually behind the end of the subframe. All due to the leaf spring rear mount. Working on solution. It all takes time.

The truck frame is six inches longer than the habitat. This I knew. As I have a 18 inch deep rear storage box attached to the habitat.

Many rig build threads take two years. I know one that took three years. Mine is average in duration.

If this is indeed a build thread, maybe you should include stuff that you have built, or modifications you have made to stuff you have bought to make it more specific for your own needs.
All you normally do is post pictures of other people's builds and make statements, instead of asking questions to resolve build issues YOU might have.
BTW... this thread was started nearly 2 years ago and you don't seem to have achieved all that much on your own build, which I would not really consider to be "average in duration".

I am not having a go at you for the duration of your build, because that would be extremely hypocritical if I did, but some actual content that involved building or modifying stuff would be a nice change.

The first few months, maybe six, were decisions and platform discussions. Then there was a pivot about six months in, to stop the DIY 4x4 build on the chassis.

I started the isuzu 4x4 conversion with a vendor, and that was finished about six months ago. (pics of my truck are shown)
In parallel I worked with a build on the habitat, which took six months of planning, then manufacturing and finally delivery about eight months ago. (pics of my habitat are shown)

All with posted pictures of the milestones achieved.

Yes, there are still many tasks to be done.

About seven months ago, we started the subframe and spring mounts. currently about 80% done.

Seems to me like a build thread.

Unlike many, our subframe is attached to the habitat with other frames. We had this engineered, either weld or bolt, so both options were available. .

When ready, a crane will lift up the complete structure and place it on the truck frame rails.
