I just got my first true custom knife. I designed this knife myself back in 2001 but never followed through with having it made. Besides, all the knife makers I talked to wanted waaaay too much money to do it.

I ended up connecting with the owner of Bloodworth custom knives though work and he offered to make it for me for a more than reasonable price, so I pulled the trigger. He just dropped it off today. I couldn't be happier. It's a total utility knife. He tested the blade by hacking a 2x6 in half. It will serve me well for many years to come.

Longrange 308, that's a cool looking blade, but I'd be worried if it was on my hip and I bent over, the back of the handle would poke me in the side

Would be great to wear on a chest rig, or on a backpack strap. Looks bombproof

The plan is a backpack strap. I have also talked to the builder and he is willing to blunt the pommel for me and re bevel it. It will still do its job as a glass breaker, but won't be quite so dangerous to the user.

If only planning to leave it hooked to a backpack strap, or rigged in the truck somehow, I'd leave it as is. My only worry was having it on a belt

That's nice. Does the sheath hold it secure enough that there is no worry of it falling out at any point?
