:D I know--this trailer, I'm sure, has one heck of an interesting history. I picked it up for $100 in the middle of Nowhere.

The build : spring over, extended front, widened fenders, lights on all corners, the top opens at the flip of a switch, compressed air ImageUploadedByTapatalk1371447092.660462.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1371447141.605186.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1371447183.498489.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1371447257.475596.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1371447302.248789.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1371447378.363274.jpg

I have not looked at every page of this thread. But on p 6 there are pictures of two different trailers that are rolled over on the trail. This got me thinking.

Why not build a simple roll cage for the trailer? Then if you did tip it over the cage would prevent damage and make it easier to roll the trailer back on it's wheels.

Since you are not trying to protect people it would not have to be as heavy as a regular cage in the Jeep. Also it could be designed to be removed while camping. Various styles of quick release pins or even trailer hitch pins could be used. There are even locking pins for a 1 1/4" hitch that could provide additional security to the contents if you left the trailer parked somewhere.

Has anyone tried this idea?

That's a great idea! A simple hoop that follows the contour of the RTT; one in front of the tent, and one behind it would suffice. Add a little gusseting where it mounts to the top rails of the trailer and your done!

You just made my Sunday booked, haha

Finally got the trailer hooked up and am on the road. First night in it will be tonight. It's a crappy picture... but its the best I have for now.
