LR3 - LR4 Resources

The Nitto Terra Grapplers are okay. I ran them for over 30k miles in my LR3, but the Coopers are MUCH better, and less expensive. They are better in ride, durability, traction, and wear...and cost.

I am a Cooper fan. Which model are you talking about? I liked the old S/T but they don't make them anymore like the older style.

I just put some cooper ltz 285/60 18 my 07 LR3 HSE. They are great. 801 including tax installed at sears of all places. Great tire. Suprisingly quiet for such an aggressive tire.

Thanks JC. Any chance you have a photo of your truck with these installed? Price seems reasonable from what I've found. Not too hateful for a Cooper AT.

Here you go. Very quiet, the LR3 is anyways. Haven't had any rubbing that I have noticed either.

2. There appears to be two methods for adding clearance: 1. Air suspension level rod lengthening and 2. Spacer above the air bag. The spacer seems like the logical choice, but I am curious of others thoughts.

I would love to see some images of these trucks as members have modified them, particularly with the spacer or similar lift and slightly larger tires. Thanks for any input!

I read on (LRRF) that with the spacers installed that the "front struts might be an issue because at full extension the upper control arm will contact the aluminum housing around the air bladder".

Personally, I have run the height sensor rod full time with 285/60/18's for about 15k miles. I had considered the spacer so I could run larger tires but do like the option that I can quickly/easily remove the height sensor rod if desired. I like the clearance it provides and still have the option for 'Extended Mode' that I have (I have high centered before and the 'Extended Mode' helped).

It is time to see just how capable the LR4 really is for adventure travel. Scotty has a new ride. . . project thread and details soon.
