You gotta pay attention around here because I change gears pretty fast! :)

Time to get these two acquainted!

LIKE A GLOVE!!!

Measuring and Solidworks'n for the rest of the day to get some engine mounts designed. I need to beef up the factory trans cross member with some extra material too.

When I say this:
Lots of little things to cross off the list first.

I don't usually (never, never ever) mean, "I need to fabricate the mounts for the entire drivetrain, oh, and put the body back on." I mean things like clean the windshield, check the coolant, screw on the shift knob, put away my tools....

You've got very good & Expensive taste in gloves.

Looking forward to seeing more of it as it comes together... are you going to sell it when you're done, or will it be buried with you?

I'm guessing that you hoisted it straight up and then rolled the frame underneath it from the position of things... I've done it that rather than trying to move a weighty Engine/Trans/T-Case on a hoist with small wheels. I found the frame with tires on it much easier to move.

Everything is for sale for the right price....though you'd have to be one deep-pocketed SOB to drive away in this van any time soon. :)

I hoisted and then rolled the frame under. No way would I try to manage rolling the hoist around with that much weight on it. It took me a couple hours yesterday to get the rigging right so it would pick up at just the right angle without wanting to spin and slide side to side.

My thoughts exactly about moving the hoist. The boom on the Cherry picker I was using to lift the Motor/Trans/T-case for my Fj40 was flexing a fair amount... kind of scary to see a motor bouncing up and down on a 3"x 3"x 1/4" box steel boom. Didn't go under it or try moving it... :D

I see that you have a Fass fuel system mounted next to your 50 gallon fuel cell. Did you install that or was it with your rig when you picked it up? I don't remember if you had a 6.0 or a V10 before your retrofit of the cummins.

I put that FASS pump in for the Cummins. I had a 5.4L before with stock fuel system (all the old stuff is for sale btw...)

I would love to pick the setup from you. Have you no bites on the 5.4? Surprises me since you have such low mileage on the whole set up.

After returning from the MG lair (I missed the wedding, damn), I have to say it's definitely a sight to be seen in person. Body up on the lift, Cummins in the Ford frame below, it all looks so OEM that if most anyone walked in off the street and took a peek, they'd be like "What's the big f'in deal here, ain't nothin' to see but an engine in a frame."

Words can't describe the talents within.

Thanks Jeremy! I appreciate the kind words. :)

What and exhaust-ing day... Haha!!

You like my duct tape "exhaust locating straps"? Doesn't hold the whole thing in place long but long enough to get a tack weld. :)

I have to add in the hangers and then finish weld the joints but its all routed and plenty of clearance. I think I can fit all of the factory exhaust shrouds in the frame too. Exhaust is 4" stainless with v-band clamps at the joints. A big Magnaflow muffler and a large-ish resonator in the system.

The fuel system is plumbed...all the hoses and fittings are assembled and ready to rock. I need to pull the tank to clean it up for paint and at the same time I'll take the cross members to the powdercoater. Getting really close to the "final assembly" stage.
