MIssion Overland Trailer Owners page

I put a big Viair 480C under the hood of my 2014 T4R and it was very convenient. I have since moved it to my 2019 Tacoma and, after mounting a steel bumper, I am going to plumb it to a quick connect coupling on the bumper.

Added some external outlets .

I finally reinstalled the Xantrex inverter that came with the trailer after going back and forth between various location options, including different inverters with different dimensions. I decided that since I've never actually used the inverter, I should stop over-thinking it. So I drilled a couple of holes in the fridge slide support bracket and used 3M VHB double-sided adhesive tape to mount the unit to the floor of the tongue box under the fridge. I omitted an extra fuse for it, since the power leads are short and the battery bank has a 100A terminal-post fuse. I am concerned that the bottom of the box is risky due to moisture, so I used a lot of silicon diametric goop on the terminals as well as filling the NEMA plug with it.

I also grounded the inverter through the box into the steel frame of the trailer using an existing fastener. I believe this to be correct, but am not 100% certain.

So now I can run something that requires AC, once I think of something, that is… ;)

Blender for margaritas perhaps? ?

Because…

Oh yeah…

I’ve combined my inability to work on Beastie with my post surgery PT. My therapist strongly recommended getting a bike. I took him seriously and picked up a Trek Marlin 7. The farkling has begun! I’ve added Bontrager Ion front and rear strobe lights, rear rack, tool pouch, a bike stand, 3“ neck extension, and some ThickSlick street tires. A friend loaned me her trainer so now the rig is setup in the living room allowing me several sessions a day peddling my butt off. The results have been amazing! The physical exercise itself is a great pastime while being under isolation lockup. Now I’m looking toward the future and post pandemic reinstalling the knobbies and hitting some single track. This is my first time with a trail bike and first actual bike in decades.

How are people transporting their trail bikes and towing a trailer? I have been thinking about a bike rack on top of the front box on the trailer. Humping it up over the spare tire would be troublesome. What are you guys doing? I’ll only have one bike to worry about.

I added a handle to help in pulling up the door. Once the latches are undone, it is much easier to pull then handle than bending and pulling on the plastic latches.

Easy solutions. Depending on what you have on the front of your truck you can mount a front receiver and a bike rack.

Don't think my ARB bullbar will allow me to add the front receiver hitch. but still a nice idea. Thanks!
