Modifications to fit Super Singles?

Just wondering if there are any modifications that need to be done to a FG434 or FG 649 to enable it to run 19.5 x 8.25 super singles (as made by Warrior)?

Thanks:smiley_drive:

I am thinking of doing the same mod,do you have 5 or 6 stud and where are you getting the wheels from. I am currently running 33"x 12.5x 16.5 and looks to have plenty of room to fit 19.5.

Garrie.

Was it you I was talking to in the lunch break on Friday?? I ran out to catch you after you left but was too slow. You said you had some info in your car on some 19.5" Pirelli's. If you could PM me that it would be much appreciated and now that your here on ExPo it would be great if you could a few pics of your setup. General shots of the truck in the "Mitsubishi Camper Examples" or if you have any of the truck actually travelling in the bush > stick them in the "FG's in Action" Thread. Let me know if you need any help posting pics too.

Enjoyed the chat the other day. Drop back in another time when the boss get back from OS. We were flat out like a lizard drinking that day. Going to be like that for the next couple of months at least. Thanks for the comments too. I'll pass them on.

Regards John.

Hi John Yes that was me last Friday, Thanks for the look around the factory and telling me about EXPO. The tyres I was talking about are a Pirelli TH25 .
If you go to WWW.pirelli.com.au you will find them. I have not followed up on a price for them as I still need 5 stud rims to suit 19.5s.
If anyone else is looking for the same maybe some bulk buying power will help with keeping the price down, I will get some photos of the truck and trip posted asap
Regards

Garrie, The Pirelli looks great on the site. Have you actually seen one? Are they as tough looking as the Toyo I showed you? I like the tread pattern of the Pirreli. One thing I've noticed with the Hankook's and also the Yokahama's for that matter is that they don't allow for the mud to escape. The tread is sort of a continuous strip on the outside of the tyre instead of blocks like the Pirelli and Toyo. The Toyo has the classic M/T pattern although it isn't nearly as aggressive as a true mud terrain with big valleys and smaller blocks .

Hi John, I haven't seen one,but I did see a Continental today that was fitted to a dual cab. They were 305s and had a much finer tread. The guy I was talking to had used them on sand and said they were good. It all depends on what the usage is going to be and what is best for the application.Mine fitted with 33x12.5x16.5 are great on the sand as they bag our well. But in remote areas they are hard to find, and don't have the weight rating when you carry a lot of gear. For the Simpson trip I didn't have the camper on as we slept in swags so weight was not an issue. But we did drive hard.
There are 3 other canters in my area that I have made contact with that are invarious stages of build ups. Also an OKA ,but will leave that alone.
Maybe we need to start a Canter Camper Touring Club.
Now that I am getting a chance to look at all the threads I can see you are a goldmine of information.
Talk to you soon.
Garrie

Hi Garrie, When I first joined ExPo I don't think there was any other Canter guys from Oz except maybe Engineer. Now there is about 10, I guess and I can see that number growing rapidly. I know the guys in the US really appreciate our experience. I mean Canter's have been widely accepted here for as long as I can remember. Give it a while and I could see a club forming for sure. Even if only to increase buying power of parts from Fuso, etc. I also notice them creeping into our 4wd magazines as well. Last Issue of 4wdCustom and I think next issue as well.

Oz101's will probably be one of the best of the new FG84's to date. Is that one of the buildups you are referring too?

Billy, sorry for the hijak. Saw your email today at work. The boss gets back next week. He's the man you need to talk to.
