My 2 trailers build

Ok so, my toe-in and amber is fixed, I wanted to make them both adjustable but I couldn't figure out a way that had the very small increments of adjustment need but still be strong enough to withstand a blow from a rock on the trail with out moving. I didn't really want to use a rod end with an eccentric bushing. Well see how it works with out adjustment, I can always change it latter if I want.
I have a printed version of the drawing for the trailing arm brackets, I could take a photo of it so u had the measurements or I could cut out and bend them for u if that would help.
The trailing arms are 29" from the center of the axle to the center of the bolts for the bushings. The weld in spindles are from adventure trailers and I don't recall what they were rated at or if they even said, I think most of those rating are for solid axles so I think most of that goes out the window when u make it independent suspension. I know for a fact that they will hold anything I put in the trailer.
The trailer tows like a dream so far, tracks strait and didnt even bounce that bad. But it's a long way from being done.
I don't know what u mean by the tapper on the hitch sorry. There is a 2" long x 1 1/4" o.d. X 1" i.d. Bronze bushing in there. It might not be the strongest or last the longest but i can rebuild the whole thing in about 10 minutes. I still have to beat the hell out of it to see how it lasts.
Thanks for your complements. Let me know if u have any more questions.

Ok so I'm trying to get these both done by the end of July for the Washington State Overland Rally. So I just finished the tongue boxes. They turned out nice. I just need to install the hinges and latch.

So I'm shifting thinks in to high gear because the WA st. Overland rally is at the end of July, I don't know if I'll make it but I'm going to give it hell. So I built my propane tank mounts this week. I built them out of 14 gage stainless steel so that when I powder coat them they won't rust between the layers of steel and in the latch when the powder where's off. So here are some pics.

The blue jig is just to keep the bit strait as it goes through the square tube. The thing with the chain is a drill cheater, its basically just leverage for your drill. It make it really easy to drill through thicker material.

Do you have a better image of this jig/cheater system?

It's a home made tool, we use a TON at work. We call it a drill cheater. From hook to handle its 20" long and the chain and hook is 33" long. It has a hook on the end of the chain so u can use it on any thing and a u shaped cup about 2-3 back from the hook to hold on to the drill.

Oh, so the hook goes into some anchor point below where you're drilling, you hold the drill with one hand, and use the other hand to push/pull down on the cheater handle to add pressure as you're drilling?

Exactly! They are not difficult to make and they work so good. They're easy to use and it takes no effort to drill a hole. A must have for any fabricator.

So I got a lot more done on the trailers today. I now have two rolling frames.

I'm using thread inserts to hold things like tongue boxes, side lockers and other things.

Tomorrow it's outer frame/fenders and start on the frame for the tub.
I wish I could get payed to build trailers every day!

So I didn't get as much done today as I wanted to, i got the bottom, the front, and side of one tub tacked up. I didn't get the top rails for the sides tacked on. So far so good.

The finished product. I think they are nicer and way cheaper than I could get off the net. My cost was about $30 each.

How's this coming? I love the way you fab'ed the trailing arms. Was it a pain? It looks like a good way to keep things square.

It's moving along slower than I want. Right now I'm working on the side lockers. Trying to make sure the doors, latches, hinges, and gaskets all fit the way I want. The way I did the trailing arms worked out very well. It kept everything very square. Any one could make there suspension this way if they wanted. I would give them the measurements for the square tube and the angles to cut it all at. Then all u have to do is build it like a box off the axle and fill in with the rest of the pieces. Some times I wish I would have made them adjustable but I am very happy with the way they turned out.
