My career has spanned design, test, manufacturing R&D, actual hands-on manufacturing support, and now certification.
Where on this chart do you think you are? I've been doing this long enough to know that the folks making these decisions aren't rookies.
Let me guess, you know everything!
The product itself and insights from insider interviews further reveals how disconnected they are from the challenges in their line-up, branding, and the market. I'm sure none of this will make a difference to your perspective. At least you're not asking for pics and meetups in the woods.
It's supposed to be rage and hate directed at the vehicle, and counter-arguments to that - not rage and hate directed at others. I think that's @Christian P.'s point.I believe you've confused arbitrary badges and outrage, although that is the point of this thread, with recognizing overwhelming evidence of correlation.
Like a Singer Porsche makes the new 911 look and feel like the next-gen 928?I suspect the Ineos Grenadier will make the new Defender look and feel like the next gen LR4, the LR5. I could be wrong ..............

It is a D4a that is less useful than a D4. Smaller cargo area. Side door instead of tailgate. Narrower cargo opening. Really, the only plus is the larger tires. Otherwise, it is just a newer Discovery. If it did not have a Defender badge, that is what everyone would think.
If you are one of those people that thinks a D4 is great off road, you are lacking in experience.

It's also 1000lb lighter. 1000lb is not a small difference. You should see the amount of work it takes to drop a few pounds off of structural components. This isn't a small deal.......
Even better that's it's the 100th times, it keeps the thread alive and generates traffic.
So while the newer LR's maintain the 7700lb tow rating, in reality they are not really suited to that workload profile. (TV should weigh more than trailer) In addition their powertrains are getting smaller.
Agreed on tires. I run 31" and they work fine. My only other requirement is load range E.
