OVRLND CAMPERS ONLY : Post your OVRLND Camper build here or a link to your build thread to inspire others!

Put the cart before the horse this weekend and bought an awning, but the deal was too good to pass up a $500 out the door with 2 of their light strips included. It's a 180 degree from Roam Adventure Co. Weighs 58 lbs and is 89 inches long.

I spoke with Jay and he stated their mounts are what the awning fit list is based on, and that the forward side latches are the main area of concern. Since they may not latch/unlatch properly.

Has anyone here installed an awning not using the OVRLND supplied mounts?

Just trying to figure out if the latches are not operable at all or just don't fully articulate.

ESI tailgate seal
Bringing this one back to the forefront of the thread. Been getting water intrusion via the doors and need to address it. Has anyone done anything different on a Tundra, or @dstefan , do you have some pictures of the sealing on the tailgate sides to the bed, please?

No problem, @Fergie. Basically I used that ESI TG seal anywhere there was a gap between the TG and the bedside. You really have to slam it hard at first, but it compresses down. I checked the seals for light leaks from inside the darkened camper at night with my wife shining the light around.

Has worked so far for water as well as dust. I did add another layer on the TG after a while to compensate for the compression. Hope that helps.

I swear it’s the Thermoduct insulation sourced from Heatso but their pictures don’t have the red stitching. Either way…that’ll work. I just bought the appropriate length to cover my chimney there using zip ties to keep it in place. The main purpose for us it to keep ourselves and the dogs from possibly getting burnt touching the ducting. But also to preserve the heat as much as possible up the stack as I am the louvers at my wife while in bed

You did an extra seal on top of the tailgate too, correct?

Appreciate the new pics; definitely helps.

I’ll give them a look; thank you!

Yes. it hasn’t changed from the post pictures you replied to above.

I think that seal is particularly good at keeping both dust and water out. I really recommend prepping the TG plastic bed rail cap thoroughly (clean, scuff, clean with isopropyl alcohol) and using the 3M primer and then use a roller to force it into the raised areas of the TG cap.

I didn’t use the primer my first time and it came off, but the second has lasted years now with the primer and better prep.

If you have the factory bed rail (which Jay uses for the clamps) take it off to find a lot of the hidden holes and fill them with Butyl tape. I also really wish I’d pulled the plastic bedcaps to seal and shim them (they can ripple a bit with the weight of the camper).
Thank you.
Researching this.
Looking at Aluminum tape and Sikaflex 221 so far. Further research may conclude silicone sealant.
