I have been going over all this for the past month, until I noticed the new All Pro bumper. I could easily get an ARB, but what's the fun in that. If I was going to go with a beefier bumper I would probably go with a Shrockworks instead, but at over $1,000, it is just not an option.

Personally I really don't need headlight loops and at only $699 plus shipping I am okay with that too.

Now when it comes to the whole airbag thing, I was reading about the whole airbag testing. If I can find it, I will post it. Airbags will still deploy with this bumper and others too not tested.

I really don't need as beefy a bumper anyways, I am about 90% in favor of the New All Pro bumper, so unless the funds come up or I find something that this bumper sucks, then I am getting it.

Thanks for the comments. It is very helpful in my decisions.

I would like to see the airbag test, it would be interesting to read.

Do you know how the weight of the All Pro compares to the ARB?

I look forward to seeing it on your truck.

Allpro is in Hemet, not far from me. I have been there and they are nice people who back the products they sell. I recommend them.

That being said, I bought my ARB from them when the truck was almost new. Had Allpro made the plate bumper back then I would have been VERY tempted. I really like the new design and I hear they will be making a rear bumper to match.

Thanks, that is good to know!

I am searching for it know. I can't remember where I read it. Maybe it was TTORA so I guess I have to go back to the dark side for a little while. I apologize right now if I can't uncover it. No I don't know the weight difference, but the All Pro sure looks lighter.

All pro vs ARB

Just wanted to weigh in on the all pro vs ARB. I have been working on finding a bumper setup for some time. And after research into Shrockworks, ARB, All Pro, Badlands, and everything in between I am still sorting through information. I came to the airbag compliance issue as well. Now from what I have read on this the air bag compliant bumpers are designed to fold inwards at a given rate working in conjuction with the airbag system. Now this to me and from looking at the ARB mounting brackets seems like a problem, they are not a solid bracket but rather built to fold inwards in the case of a collision. Thus the airbag mech is not affected and it deploys as it would in a stock bumper collision. The stock bumper being a 30lb piece of plactic with a small steel bar molded into it.

I mean the only reason I really run a heavier, beefier aftermarket bumper is for the protection it warrants. Now I realize that ARB has a awesome rep and I dont want to step on any toes with ignorance on my part, but from my research I have found that they design these bumpers to keep their compliance (ie folding bracket), while a stout non buckling bumper does not garner that rating. Just my 2c

Nice build! Getting the rig ready for the California trip eh?

I quickly found a place to put my Magellan Crossover. I will have to find a place to temporarily put it though when we head to California in April due to there windshield laws.

You'll be fine with your GPS stuck to the windsheild. I used to put mine on there and never once got hassled. My sister and my dad drive around with their radar detectors stuck on the windshield and never had an issue (and sis got a speeding ticket with it on their and he didn't cite her for it :D).

Thanks man, it's slowly working its self out.

I have not used the tank yet, but it seems quality enough that I could not justify an expensive Advanced Air Systems 15 lb. Power Tank System. Basically with the Power Tank System your getting a really fancy regulator. The Source one is pretty basic, but nothing that will prevent you from easily using it. There are no gauges on the Source Tank.

I did order one of these from Expedition Exchange
Advanced Air Systems Heavy-Duty Tire Inflator (TIG-8200) $60

I have the source HyperFlo MAX with the AAS HD tire inflator and the system has worked flawlessly for over two years. I couldn't justify the extra $$$ for a two gauge regulator and 5lbs less tank.

Of course I am:26_7_2:

That is good to know, because for the life of me I can not figure out another place to put it.

Same feeling here. I really did not see the need for two gauages on a CO2 tank.

two gauages is not really needed for CO2 cause for CO2 the high pressure gauge will always read around 800psi-900psi depends on temp. I use the same gauge for both nitorgen and CO2 the high pressure gauge works nicely for nitogen to tell if i'm close to running out.

Ref: the placement of the GPS......if your vehicle is registered in California, the California vehicle code would apply. If you were to get a "fit-it" ticket, it would not go through because fixing it would simply require leaving the state.

Example.......Tinted drivers side windows are verboten in California. Not so in Arizona. They cant make you peel your windows just to drive from Bullhead City to Needles.

Also coming are All Pro's 05+ Tacoma Front IFS Skid Plate, Tacoma Transmission Skid Plate, and Tacoma T-Case Skid Plate. Luckily, I have been able to sell a lot of unneeded stuff and find great deals on gear that I have spent very little on the build.

I have a lot of stuff here and coming over the next few weeks. Going to be spending many hours in the shop this month. I will post pics as I go along of course. Still figuring out the best way to finish this gas can holder thing.

I have been thinking about those, or the Bud Built skid plates. Be sure to take lots of photos of the install, and let us know what you think of them.

I am also looking into different tires. I am mainly looking into Cooper ST's - 255/85/16. I would love to hear what you guys think of this tire on my rig. I am still doing the research right now.

Those are nice tires.

Redline has those on his 4Runner and he says they do run skinny for a 255, you should talk to him about them.
