I pulled the small section of the rear seat from my Disco and installed a fork mount. I tie the rear down with a ratchet strap on top of the top tube where it meets up with the seat tube. It's been a solid setup so far.

I like this. I've been thinking of the same type of set up for when I get LC80. I'm wondering if I could do 2 bikes on to of a drawer next to a fridge...

In the 80:

In the Tundra, 5 bikes this past July 4th.

In the 5X8 trailer:

I'm the "one" with the truck so I get to drive, which I prefer.

heres mine and my lil bros, they are usually just put in the bed, they are just stood up in the pic, i want to build a rack for them because this past weekend i spent 45 mins fixing the front derailleur at the trail after it bounced around in the bed for an hour

Thanks, Yes the rear wheel is on. With all the other stuff you can't see it. You can just see the front wheel in there too.

Love my Razor Rock levers on my Hayes brakes, with a real Hayes chainstay mount.

My wife and I have many different bikes and transport different ways. Both vehicles have Yakima racks with Steelhead mounts, we also have a hitch basket that I've bolted some bike tights on and I've made a small mount for the interior of the vehicles.

I've since moved the mounts inside of the basket so the handle bars don't stick out so far.

I used an aluminum door threshold to make this thing. It'll fit 2 road bikes (or one mountain bike and one road bike-mountain handlebars are too wide and hit) and fits in our 4runner and subaru. I drive long all over the state for rides and don't always like the bike up top or outside of the vehicle for different reasons.

I've had 4 bikes on the Yakima rack with no problem, unless you're on a trail and in the trees.

My old truck had mounts for 8 bikes.

Well, I ended up getting be a 4 bike Hitch mount from Allen while I was at Walmart yesterday evening.

Somebody got sticker happy and actually put $50.00 on it. The put that price sticker on every single box there from 2-4 bike mounts. I brought it up there to see if they would honor it and they did. I got it for $53.50 out the door which is much better than the $99.00 they were asking! I love a good deal! Needless to say they hi-tailed it back there to change the stickers out!

I have a couple of ways to haul bikes on the Disco

using a retrofitted fork mount to haul it off the back or

Thule reciever mount when I don't need to worry about departure issues. It is a handy way to haul multiple bikes.

On the Cruiser I use two fork mount setups attached to a Thule load bar with gutter mounts above the windshield. The bar also directs the limbwires back to the basket. This setup keeps the sunroof view unimpeded and the rear wheels rest in the front of the basket. I can still fit kayaks or a canoe in there with the bikes which is great. If the weather is bad I usually keep my bike or bikes inside and can still easily get in and out of the rear sleeping quarters.

Get the Thule T2 if you like the hitch style.
Made for off road, and I hear no rattles from mine at all.

I believe Scott has the same one.

They are expensive, they average a little over $400.

Mine was on the rig all winter in the PNW snow and rain, and it looks like the day I got it yesteryear.
