in the interim I was over picking up some parts from a buddys shop and happened to walk to the shop next door and spied an old mustang sitting in the back unloved..one thing led to another and I picked up one of my dream cars for an absolute song...I am now the proud owner of a 1965 Mustang fastback with a worked 289 and automatic..a genuine numbers matching A code car....very little rust and has been resprayed but she is getting a bullit gt350 restomod makeover done on her as we speak..sweeeeet..

The Mustang's going to be great. I love classic cars like that. Please tell me the alloys are going and you'll be getting original wheels all round (I presume the steel wheels that look like Rostyles are original) - otherwise it'll look like something from "overhaulin", a show that wrecks classics on a weekly basis!

The wheels on the back are ones from a later mustang that the previous owner put on them.. I do have e original wheels and will be keeping them.. But I will probably be putting the bullet style wheels on it as I want some wider wheels.. Installing tasteful flares and lowering it a bit with improved sway bars and power disc brakes all round and LSD 8 inch rear end.. Stock gearing maybe...and doing some other period mods to it.. It's going to be a restomod. White with the dark blue gt stripes down the centre.. Slimline hood scoop and exhausts coming out the rear valance.. Almost a gt350 clone.. Interior is staying original..currently installing cam gear drive into it, will give it that noise from under the hood that makes any car guy go..wow.. Wonder what's under there..

So we finished off (if land rovers are EVER finished) the reassembly yesterday and I did a quick shakedown run, a couple of smell items to tweak and she should be good for a longer run and may take her off road and see if I can get her stuck..new diffs make her drive a bit different, a lot of torque steer initially but I can already feel that getting less, haven't had the terrible noises yet that some others have mentioned when pulling into parking spaces but still lots of testing to do..installed a few x-eng parts too.. Will post pics..
