Prescott Winter Rover Run

A little impromptu adventure today with the Land Rovers. Typically, the mountains around Prescott would be packed with snow, but rain was the only element of contention for this trail.

This is a favorite local trail, and a good place to show our new Australian intern (Troy) some of the local scenery.

We had an LR4, RRS and a 2004 DII along for the adventure. Next time, we will dust off the DI and RR MKIII.

We just installed a set of Johnson Rods on this new project RRS. There was also a set of 32" tires on 20" wheels in the shop, so they went on too. 18s are planned in the next few weeks.

The Range Rover Sport handles the terrain differently than the LR4, which was surprising. No doubt the anti-sway bars are more "sporty". The traction control also performed different, requiring a bit more tip-in to gain effective brake modulation.

The LR4 project has really developed nicely. Overall, just point and shoot now.

The Discovery II with mud terrains and center diff. lock performed well. Troy had a good time with the Land Rover. He typically drives Nissan Patrols in OZ

I think the RRS looks great with just a change in tire size.

Nice flex out of the Discovery

About the most extreme our mud gets around here. . .

A fun day on the trail!

We have had a pretty dry winter too until a few weeks ago....We have been getting hammered here in the NW.

Looks like nice time out on the trail.
