thanks for the reply Sinuhe, but our itunes is different to the one in the states.
I loved your story in OJ on Rock and snow, great pics.
Do you know wether this is going to be available on DVD from speed, it looks like that is the only way I am going to be able to see it.

Just watched the episode on Hulu. Granted I was not there, but driving in similar situations I also think that chains could have really helped. One other question, do you feel that tire studs would also have helped for the slick & icy sections?
I have a question for everyone (maybe Hulu cut out some footage?). You started south from Moab on Lockhart. But Elephant Hill was closed, yes? How did you end up going North into Beef Basin?
Otherwise, I dunno I'd say the drama/actuality ratio was pretty even. My heart rate would be quite elevated knowing I might have to walk out and wait for the melt. Good show.

I have had great luck with studs on car.....problem would be getting them for a 38" tire....and the cost of running two sets of tires....i vote for the chains!

The section where they opened it up a bit on Lockhart Basin Rd with the AEV rigs, Sinuhe was giving chase in the Rover. He hit a deep compression pretty hard and having less travel than the AEV trucks bottomed out hard. The headlights on the Discos are held in by clips and the force of the jolt caused his headlight to pop out and break.
