Is a 97 E350 supposed to have one?
My wife just found out that our van doesn't have one or I have a bulb to replace!

My 2000 does not have one. I actually pulled the instrument cluster out because I thought the bulb was bad, and there is definitely no fuel warning light.

My 1997 diesel club wagon does not have a low fuel light.

I bet you its a gas or diesel thing. Gas will diesel wont?

Wow crazy!
Is it possible it was part or a trim package or other option?

My van started as a cargo van with a gas v10.

Some Ford/Mercurys from the late 90's/early 2000's had a "Check Gauges" warning light on the dash that would chime at low fuel, low oil pressure, abnormal temp. I guess the idea was that it could cover all the bases.
.
May be worth a check.
