RotopaX Gas Can Mounting Pictures (please)

Doesn't Get Out Enough
With that much open area between bars I'd use a small piece of metal plate for backing support and just bolt it and the can mount together across the bars.

Might use carriage bolts for a lower-profile to keep your basket surface still mostly flat. Easy-peasy.

FYI the orange/black storage packs are not waterproof/water tight at all. Other than that they are pretty nice containers.

Mounted on the new Gobi...cut aluminum plates for the bottom and security screws to fasten it.

It was much easier to remove the rack, then to try and shove my fat hands under it.

p.s....I have no knowledge of where that beer came from...

I finished my rotopax mount yesterday. I also have some white ones for water and they will be installed on my RTT soon.

image.jpgimage.jpgI have mine mounted inside my Jeep. No fumes or leaks whatsoever. I have them attached to my SWAG OFFROAD BAJA BINS. FOURTREKS also has a roll bar clamp to attach the rotopax mounts to any roll bars roof rack or cage.image.jpg

Bought the Rotopax at GanderMountain and sandwiched their ATV mounting brackets between my camper shell and bed rail, works pretty good and doesn't stick out too far. Definitely makes transferring fuel much easier!

I finally got my rotopax mounted. With one 4 gallon on the rear of the jeep, two 2 gallon on the trailer, and two 5 gallon septer cans the Jeep's range is doubled from 18.5 gallons to 36.5 gallons.

I found a Hitch Gate by WILCO for sale locally and decided that this may be the answer. It mounts to the 2" receiver and swings out to allow access to the camper.

I had a local welding shop add some extra tubing and steel plate. Primed and painted it.

Added the ROTOPAX mounting hardware.

Mounted the gas cans. The Hitch Gate also has a Hi-Lift mount bracket that I will add later.

very nice! Looking to add 2 more myself. Just as an FYI. "TACOMA" is a discount code when ordering from RotoPax's website.
