RotopaX Gas Can Mounting Pictures (please)

I got 17 1/4"

To clarify this is what i'm looking for 2GalPacks.jpg

And not thrilled with rotopax before even buying as I sent them an email this am asking for the measurement, by noon with no response called them and the woman said "oh ya I got your email but didn't respond yet, whats your phone number i'll find out and call you right back" No call today...talk about a great way to sell your product.

Not advocating ….. just reporting, if one was to order a replacement yellow water spout to use in place of one of your existing black ones (about 12 bucks) I'd wager that with it's self venting feature you might be surprised :):)

The calibration on my tape measure might be off. Im sure if you tell them what happened they give you a discount or something.
They were decent and gave me a military discount when I ordered from them.

Just measured both my new 4 gal. . One of them with fuel, mounted on factory mount is 17 7/16 . The other empty is 17 5/16 . They do expand and contract a bit with temperature, especially if they are not topped off with fuel. As with all plastic cans if there is airspace in the can they will tend to balloon . But due to Rotopax design and thickness they are not nearly as bad as other cans. One note , if you lock them down with the factory mounts and they expand with the heat of the day, it can make the mount tighter due to the pressure inside the can.
You might have had a little difficulty getting hold of them, but don't let that discourage you. I have found their customer service to be really good. Plus I feel they make a great product which is unsurpassed.

My roofrack is running out of room and I didn't like carrying 60-70lbs of fuel up high so I modified my $35 Harbor Freight bike carrier (page 64 of my build thread).

I have my roto packs set up similar to the above, I built a fold down hitch carrier for my spare and mounted my roto packs to the back.

I made my with a weak swing away, it work perfect for Carrie 4 G of Gas.. and maybe little something else, but not for a tire carrier..
