They only made it for three years. That front end style was made for one year. It was the lx too. So it had a/c options and upgraded interior and other things.

Not a clue. My friend had them in his stash in the back yard. They gotta be 60s 70s era. His dad is big into the old british midgets, sprites and mini coopers so i suspect there off one of those.

Its like christmas opening the box. Time to make time to strip the old van and swap the parts on the replacement.

Thanks again chris!!!

Nely,
Nice work! it looks like your hitting all four corners at once. I have a couple of questions first does the van have a tachometer on it? mine doesnt and it seems it would be nice to have and what is a pyrometer? and last where did you get the pillar mount.

MadChad.

No tach in my van. Supposidly the instrument cluster from a f series pickup would work but i cant say for sure. Thats just forum hear say.

A pyrometer is an exhaust gas temperature gauge. It measures the exhaust gas temperature in my powerstroke so i know about how hot the exhaust is so i dont cause a melt down. Like damaged pistons and such. From what ive read (forum hear say again) 1200° is max you wanna see for no longer than 10 or 20 sec. That measurment is pre-turbo and my probe is located in drivers manifold in the bend b4 the up pipe. I reached 1100° for a sec or two just climbing the hills with my dp tuner on 60 econo mode and cruise set. Think ill need to do some more work to get that lower.

And the gauge pillar is an auto meter part i purchased from summit racing.

I do not recommend it of course but towing loads around here in the mountains I set my alert's at 1400 degrees on my 7.3 and run it for as long as it takes between 1300 and 1400 degrees. Sometimes this means running at that temp for 10 and 15 minutes and I have not had any problems so far. My van is a stock turbo 7.3 with an edge juice with attitude. I have been wanting to run it on the stock setting towing through the mountains just to see how hot the stock setting's will let the exhaust get. Does anyone know that?
