How did they strip the lug nuts?
You might want to replace those studs too, they could be weakened.

This is sad. You couldn't change your tire in a motel parking lot! What would you have done if you were out of AAA range?

I am sure he was just scared that he would bend his tire iron...
That sucks. I think you need to get a proper breaker bar, socket and some fresh lug nuts. In Chris's defense when I saw his truck this summer those lugnuts were fubar.
She is looking good man
if i had been stuck in the middle of nowhere, i woulda started prying the crap out of those lug nut caps. good thing i have spare MREs in the back of the truck hahaha
Might take some time to do it now while not possibly fubar in the middle of nowhere. Using an angle grinder and a screwdriver, you should be able to get the covers off quickly. Mine where on the bench while I was doing a spring upgrade, and it was less than 30 min to do them all. Then get the new correct socket. throw the oem "wrench" out, and only use the breaker bar and the socket.
If that is too much, you might find a socket that will fit (hint 1 1/16) with the fubar caps. Oh yea and get a jack that will lift your truck and allow you to change a tire. even on a flat surface you would want more than just a hi-lift to change a tire, throw a couple of chocks in the recovery bag at the least.
