Stupid question of the day

You're thinking of trailers? You have a whole truck bed. A whole bed! I told Jen about the NC trip, and she got pretty excited. I'm going to have to jam my whole family into the back of my XJ with my gear... and I don't even know where I'd put one of those fancy Toyota buckets. I'm thinking about trailers! :coffeedrink:
Technically speaking, with the rack I've got a whole bed and a half! But you've seen it, full, every nook and cranny full. Besides with the trailer I can get one of those cool RTTs like other people have! Just the idea of a basecamp on wheels, quick setup, is appealing. More appealing than unloading most of the bed, setting up two tents, four cots, etc. Ultimately, if we had the cash, we'd be seriously thinking of the Campa....

The old XJ is going to get pretty cramped, maybe I'll have room for another bucket. Jeep guys probably aren't allowed to sit on a Toyota bucket!:hehe:

Yeah, its more than adequate for myself, or day trips with the family - but not really good for multi-nighters with the whole crew. I told her about beach camping in NC, and she wanted in - then she started saying things about "loads of blankets", and air mattress, and I'm like... :smilies27

I put the 12V fridge in the back, and that's half the cargo area pretty much. The tent and air-mattress bin takes up the other half... and... everything else can go on top, or on the seat next to the boy.

Actually, I stumbled upon the toilet thread that's somewhere around here, and kinda fancied that neat toilet dealie that Sierra Expeditions sells. Looks like a quality receptacle for... crapping into. Folds up too.

But no... without going too far off-topic, I'm thinking about things. A trailer would be the ticket. I could continue to enjoy the size and mobility of the XJ, and take stuff with me too. A truck would also be good, but... I made a promise to myself to not buy anymore vehicles - so I can eventually partake in the wonderful "debt-free living" threads that pop up around here. That'd be nice. I need to start a "living-free debt" thread. Maybe I could make an off-road trailer out of the Miata. :D

Now, just how are you going to get that massive air mattress into the ARB tent?

As for the fridge, if its taking up too much room, maybe I could haul it around for you for a while?
