Great idea on the power box. I have a light and want to put a USB charger in the tent as well, might have to do something like this myself.

I pick up those plastic job boxes from a local electronics shop, cheap and they work great.

Rattlet, where did you find that resin box? I like your idea. I was planning to put the switches on the tent floor, but was worried on roling in to them while I sleep.

I use one of these Brunton Sustain 2 power packs inside my Maggiolina for charging devices like phones and camera batteries. It is a bit unique among the smaller power packs in that it can output 12V which increases its flexibility. With that, it could easily power a variety of ceiling lights or lanterns too.

Someone else mentioned a Big Agnes sleeping bag, and I wholeheartedly agree. The Big Agnes is really warm and comfortable for one or two people. It doesn't have insulation on the bottom where it isn't needed for a RTT, so it is easy to leave setup in the RTT when travelling.

Are you like me and don’t tried of your Travel Cover hanging down in the dirt (or blocking your door)?

Here is my easy fix for a Tepui with Velcro travel cover strap. Make a couple of straps about 12" long with D-rings on the end and screwing them to the base. The D-rings attach to the Velcro end of the travel cover straps and hold the cover up.

Here is what I did tonight with some motivation and design cues from a few of the posts in this thread:

I made some much needed improvements to the lighting situation inside the RTT. I added two 16" white LED of either end on independent switches. I didn't want wires tied to the support bars so I picked up some split loop that was just the right size to wrap around the support bars and hide the wire, I am happy with how it turned out, don't really know how I could have done it any other way to make it any cleaner of an install....

Here's a pic if the above description doesn't make sense:

Under the foam mattress I added some more foam to soften the bed up some for the GF

I don't notice a huge difference in the 30 min I spent up there after installing, but perhaps we will after a few hours of sleeping on it

Probably by now you've figured out that when the tent is opened your 'loops' to hold the cover aren't as 'tight or snug' as when folded up. I believe I ended up putting the two short straps on the 'fixed' half of the base.

Yes, they stack some, but still hold the cover up pretty close to the base, here is a shoot. Would be interested in seeing shoots of what you did.
