Beeeeeefy! Out of curiosity, what are the holes on the side of the rear bumper for? Flag holders? Rod holders for ocean fishing?

Cheers!

My guess would be a Hi-Lift jacking point.

All very good guesses, but none of them are correct. Keep thinking about it and I will let you all know when it's done. I do like the rod holder idea, but I just plan to clamp those on the front bumper as needed.

Some pictures of the hinge and the start of the swing away. CBI uses a 1" chunk of round solid bar and a oil lite brass bushing. The standard wheel bearing that everyone else uses fatigues and snaps off over time. This is a much better set up and to replace the oil lite bushing is about $15 bucks, not that I have ever heard of anyone having to replace one. The black knob is spring loaded and holds the swing away open.

OK, I'll play along! Perhaps the holes which look to be angled around 45*, are to hold the poles for a canopy that goes over the back of the rig. (Hey, since we're guessing gotta let the imagination run a bit!)

Cheers!

While the holes are angled at a 45* angle and a very good guess, the orginal intent of the holes is not for a canopy. I am going to try and use them to hold up an awning, but if that doesn't work out, they still have a different, very usefull purpose.

Aiight then!....a noble purpose to be sure! An awning is a wonderful thing, but ....sounds like you have more tricks up your sleeve on this one..Will be fun to watch and learn!

Cheers!

I don't know about noble, but it should be pretty cool when it's all done. :ylsmoke:

My son and I are heading to Moab next weekend to try it out. Going to meet my dad who is a professional photographer there along with a good friend I went to high school with. Should be a great trip so stay tuned for more pictures!

Sounds like an awesome trip! I hope you can give a detailed review on the tires when you get back, I'm thinking about picking a set up myself.
