Thanks Everyone. Hopefully I will have some pictures of the rear bumper today. I went by there yesterday and he had the back bumper off to finish sand it, it then goes back on to build the swing away so hopefully I can get some pictures of it on today.

OK, Rear bumper pictures as promised. The swing away is starting today so everything should be wrapped up and off to powder coat by Monday.

In this picture, this bracket will tie into the back of the reciever tubing for additional support. The front of the reciever is actually welded to the face of the bumper, then these supports bolt on the back.

The tab on the back of the bumper here ties back to the frame rail for support on the "wing" of the bumper.

Beautiful work! That's a few bonesworth.....any idea what it will weigh? My son has a '98 4Runner and would love something like this, but weight is a definite consideration on that lighter vehicle....

Cheers!

As you know Jason, Steve's bumpers will take a good hit and leave you laughing. This one looks no different, nice and stout. I still can't believe the one he built for my Taco took a 25mph rear end and was still straight. ;)

Jason has a secret weapon going into his bumpers but I won't spill the beans and if I like it I am copying his idea!

They build production bumpers for that generation of 4Runner. If you called them I bet they could tell you a exact weight of what your interested in.

Don't go spilling any beans! I gotta keep all that under wraps.... I know you noticed the secret design integration.

Awesome build! Can't wait to see it all done!

You and me both my friend...

So a few shots of the rear corners and also of the front bumper. I know the pictures suck.

Is that 1/8" or 3/16" material they are using? Very stout looking for sure.

Cheers!

Beeeeeefy! Out of curiosity, what are the holes on the side of the rear bumper for? Flag holders? Rod holders for ocean fishing?

Cheers!
